Default rattle when decelerating

So whenever I am under heavy acceleration then get off the gas I hear a rattle from the bottom of the car. But as soon as I push in the clutch it stops. Its not very loud, but sometimes I will get a rubber smell from the HVAC. Maybe its nothing major just wanted to ask.

I sure hope it is. The car has 15k on it and no modifications to the exhaust.

youre not modded, you still have warranty right, you can always bring it to the dealer to tell them, or you can just jack up your car and move the exhaust a litlte and see if it rattles, or look for anything that the exhaust is very close to

im bumping this thread cause i have crawled under the car and have not found any loose bolts. I hear a rattle when I let off the throttle anywhere above 4000 rpm. And as soon as I push in the clutch the rattle goes away. Its a faint rattle but it drives me insane.

i have sort of a clinging sound ever so slightly at idle and as soon as i tap the gas it goes away instantly. I dont have an engine cover on (not yet) so any chance it could be loud vvti? If my sound didnt go away when i hit the gas i would be worried but it goes right away every time. Also, in real cold weather you can hear it more and in hotter weather you dont hear anything

i guess just either crawl under the car and see what you find....or just take it to a dealer...

i spoke to the dealer and they said my car is running perfect and its because of my engine cover not being on and there is no issue. Ive taken care of my car like a baby so I listen for anything and always post. Im like an over protective parent.

the fact that it stops when you push the clutch in makes it sound like a clutch/flywheel issue, not an exhaust issue...

i brought it to the dealership today and they said it was a heat shield for the exhaust. and when i pushed in the clutch the RPM's would drop thus making less exhaust come out and not make the rattle. He promised me it was nothing serious and if it was he would warranty it no problem. These guys are mad cool, so when I put my exhaust back on in the spring time I will check.

I think its the brace that the exhaust rests on, in case of the exhaust falling off, that part is suppose to "catch it"

no, if he said heat shield hes reffering to one of the ones under the car, there are several. you could always just rip em off, theyre only held on with rivets if i remember correctly. lol
