Reducing rasp: I have resonator & silencer- what else??
I have OBX headers, JDM s-pipe and a SR*S catback, and as I feared the SR*S is soooooo damn loud. It already has a resonator, a silencer and no cat- I need to reduce the loudness because its incredibly loud, especially in 1st gear. Any ideas?

well.. you can try a different header......... or loose the header.. go back to stock.
loose the s pipe too.
less power but it will sound much better. no rasp and not that loud.
check my vids on youtube.
i got megan headers stock s pipe and custom cat back ( hks)

I took it out for a drive tonight and my neighbors will hate me if they find out its me making all that noise. Since its my first time driving it more then a mile since I put the new exhaust in, it seems I will need to do something about the loudness or I will have to take off the cat back which I dont want to do. Any ideas on how I can keep the new exhaust and maybe weld something over the tip in some way to reduce noise? Maybe melt something inside the tip to knock off the loudness? Thanks for the help!

so... you know that there is no such things as JDM parts for the Scion tC, right? But to help with your problem, get a 30 inch resonator from your local muffler shop and that should help with the noise.
And sell your POS JDM s-pipe...

This is the downpipe I bought, it doesnt say anything about JDM- I'm not sure where I got JDM from...must have been confused or something

I thought the OBX header came with a s-pipe. That's the one thing that will make the exhaust sound loud and raspy, installing a header. An aftermarket exhaust will amplify the sound. Like the others have said, take your car to a muffler shop and get a high flow cat and resonators welded on. Right now I just have the Agency Power exhaust installed and can be heard more than a block away just driving normal through the hood. I have yet to install the Draxxas s-pipe my friend sold me because I'd rather wait til I get a header or go boost to lessen the times I have to go under the car.

um i've heard the sr*s one on youtube. the exhaust itself sounds pretty damn crappy. sorry, but i'm gona be honest. but a cat and more resonators will definitely help, but the silencer has def gotta come out. silencers make it sound riiiiceyyyy

s pipe will make it louder!!! as i told you.. get rid of the s pipe and header.. if u dont want to then get a high flow cat and a resonator.
btw i used to have stock midpipe, header and a cheap ebay axle back.......... now i have a custom 2.5" cat back with the same header and hks muffler.. sounds better and not even that loud.. .so u could try a different muffler too!
