Review: Competition Clutch Stage 4 Clutch Kit
I originally had the Exedy Stage 1 (Single Plate Organic) clutch when I was N/A and at the beginning when I got boosted. The Exedy did slip occasionally in 3rd, and 4th gears and I assume that the turbo provided too much torque for it to handle. So shortly after, I decided to take Dezod up on their offer to try out the new and improved Competition Clutch kits, despite their bad reputation with the tC for many years. Here is my review on the clutch so far:
*******************************
Vehicle: 2008 Scion tC
Part: Competition Clutch Stage 4 kit (p/n: 16208-0620/1620), Sprung hub
Purchased Through: Dezod Motorsports
Purchase Date: 9/25/2012
Installation Date: 10/13/2012
Pros
• Pedal feel is very light, feels similar to Exedy Stage 1
• Very easy to get used to
• Great torque holding capacity on hard pulls (7 psi of boost)
• Good on street driving
• Smooth engagement on 2nd through 5th gears
• Nice appearance and packaged very well
• Included free T-Shirt
Cons
• Engagement on 1st gear during break-in is very rough
• Engagement feel during break-in period varies depending on rpm speed (very rough < 2k rpm, a little less rough between 2k and 2500 rpm)
• Drivetrain shutters excessively sometimes (after break-in finished) if engaging under 2k rpm
Additional Notes
The drivetrain shutter could be attributed to poor clutch work on my part or weak mounts. However, I do not recall such exaggeration on shutter when breaking in my previous clutch (Exedy Single Plate Organic Clutch Kit). Overall, I am pleased so far with the performance for the price.
*******************************
Overall, I give it a 4 out of 5. Big thanks to all the folks up at Dezod Motorsports, especially Paul, who have been super supportive and just a great company to work with!

***AMENDMENT***
It is recommended to break in the clutch for 500 miles, however I found that the engagement felt much more fluid after 650-700 miles. I'd encourage anyone who buys this clutch to extend the break in period to between 650-700 miles instead for better all around feel.

Depends on how much you are tuned for. Exedy is good for around 280 wtq (more or less), but I always like to leave some cushion just in case. I'd say in my own opinion that you could safely do around 240-250 wtq with it. You should contact Exedy to get their opinion.

I think it will be fine all day long for that S/C at 9.5 PSI or this will be good too:
