I have always had idle problems, and its always worse when I have the AC on. I will be sitting at a light and the idle will drop down to below 500 rpm and then it will shoot up to 1500. It will go back down and sometimes stall on me.

does any of you have an aftermarket intake system or a little cone breather attached to the side of the engine?

Default Warranty enhancement

Are you familiar with a warranty enhancement? Also known as recall. Toyota and Scion will not name it a recall. But if you have flakes in your engine, they will replace your engine free of charge until October 31st

So 10/31/16 this "recall" expires? Is there a reference# or some other type of ID you can provide so I can give to the dealer?

Not sure what "flakes" in engine refers to but my 2006 Tc just went into limp mode with most of same issues referenced in this thread.

Not holding my breath on your answer at 11th hour but, WTF.

Thanks for any answer you can provide.

Otherwise am going to chase rest of popular cures. FYI, CAI is really only mod on car and I call it "Go Cart" cause that is what it drives like up til now.

Default Warranty enhancement

http://www.toyoheadquarters.com/threads/excessive-oil-consumption-on-2az-fe-engine-lsc-ze7.362/
From looking at the page you have till October 31 to get it checked out. Because I simply change the oil myself I just had to provide receipts for when I purchased oil and filters. Otherwise you need to provide them proof of oil changes and how long it has been since you had your last one so they can verify the oil consumption

that is only for 07 and newer 1st gen tCs, the 05/06 tCs had a different version of the 2AZ-FE that wouldn't be covered under that warranty.
