Default rpm increase

i have an automatic tc.

is it normal for ur rpm's to increase when you go from drive to park?

yes because it drops when it hits neutral and then when it gets to reverse it raises and then back down at park.

it does this because when your transmission is in drive, a load is being applied to the engine, making the rpm's decrease. when you put your vehicle into neutral or park, the load is relieved from the engine, and it returns to its set idle speed.
