Quoted from The ptuning tuner " 7800 rpms should be the max rpm on 2az block with stock stroke. We run ours to 8000 without an issue, but mathmatically 7800 is max"

Thank you very much for that info elevation, seems to match up with my calcs as 7800 rpm with stock stroke puts the MPS at 25m/s. Happen to have a link to where you got that from? cuz im betting theyve got even more good info on there.

ESEMRFOZZ13, def keep us posted on what your results are, and how much timing advance you can add without knock. You should post some pretty good numbers and im betting youll have better low end than me. Let me know how it goes.

TheQuietThings, where you bouncing off the limiter when you got that reading? or how did you find it?

06sciontcnda704, yes 6500rpm is fairly safe, but dont cruise there or anything. And I agree with the general consensus here which is unless you have power adders theres no point as youre already past peak HP and you do wear the engine more the higher you rev, simple as that.

Mileoutrage, give unichip a call and see what they tell you. I want to see what they say to you as theyve told me itll do it all.

Does the emanage ult control vvti?

Yours is at 6300 I believe. and yes 6.5k would be plenty safe. How you gonna get to 130 tho, we have a speed cut at 128... i guess im just confused as to what you were asking by that.

i'm going to use a greedy ultimate-

Speed Limiter Cut Feature - This feature will eliminate the factory speed limiter. (May not work on some vehicles)
Throttle Setting - Any voltage can be inputted directly to set the throttle position.
Warning Setting - e-manage Ultimate can illuminate the Active L.E.D. as a warning light for RPM and/or one additional parameter from the menu, by selecting and setting a warning point value (or an unused I/J CH can be used to activate a relay to illuminate an external warning light).
Ignition Cut Feature - With the installation of a switch (in the ON position), ignition can be cut at a set RPM point

Gotcha, didnt know what EMS youd be using. But yeah with the ULT you can cut the speed limiter. But just as a side note, youll hit 130 at 5700rpm in 5th so raising the limiter to hit 130 dont really matter. but at a limit of 6500 you could hit 150 on the dot. maybe thats what you were shooting for?

And its a matter of personal preference about the exhaust. You can hear just a hint, and I mean just a hint of resonation around 2800rpm at >40% throttle. Other than that its just a deep and very full/rich sound from there on up. and very deep below there. full throttle just sounds MEAN. and on the rev down theres just a hint of rasp, but it actually sounds good. Heres a link to a vid of someone with a setup like mine
Thanks! I think I'll be purchasing an s-pipe and midpipe to go with the TRD exhaust.... and will be match porting my exhaust manifold.... Im also debating on which piggyback to go with unichip or ultimate.....??????? watching.....

150mph would be great, i just want to see more boosted scion guys on youtube do speedruns showing what mph and rpm they do in each gear. But i thought 128mph was rpm cut im stock so i dont waste time trying to hit cut it'll take ages so your saying at 128mph speedo is at 5700 rpms

Yup, I got that number from doing some by hand calculations w/the gear ratios and tire diameter but you can also watch the tach in all the youtube videos and see that its ~5700rpm as well. Plus Ive hit it before too.

Good to know paul. Now im almost thinking about going higher... hmmm tis all speculation tho. and 06, i just took my car up to speed limiter on the way home yesterday and for me, I was just at a hair below 5700 when the car cut out. and elevation, i know flatshifting is for all you turbo guys to keep it spooled but I do it anyway myself (cuz i like the small pull I get from the flywheel and engine when i clutch out) and I had a friend who thought I was auto, so strongly so that he (drives an auto rx wanted to drive my car, got in, and said WTF is this other pedal for. I was tempted to say its the NOS! but i played it safe and told him just to get out.

You do know Dan Gardner's tC is Supercharged right?

My rev limit is 6.5k on a completely stock motor. Been like that for a while now. When I put the car Back on boost, I'll run it to 6.8k rpms. Then build the motor after a while and run it to 7500-7800rpms.

In NA form even with a built head, I would doubt the car would do anything worth mentioning at 7200+rpms. But good luck OP.

That looks to be 5700-6k rpms like previously mentioned. If you go look at your Tac, you will see that the red does not start at 6k, it's a little past 6k.
