I drive an auto, and I got 29 mpg city with my first tank of gas, courtesy of the dealership. Though I basically didn't drive the car over 35 mph that tank, I got a lot of miles. My second tank was bad compared to that.

Keeping driving and see how other tanks compare to your first tank.

Well i drove from Fl to Ga and the second time i filled up that tank took me to Ga and drove around in town my light didn't come on until 380. But when i'm home and doing mostly city with a little bit of highway i get between 300 and 310. I have a 05 5spd
that sounds about right.

"as i try to keep the revs around 2000-2500 in the automatic, and i avg around 22-23, getting 300 by the light is barely possible for me. "

This seems low 06CStC. You should definately be getting better milage if your keeping your rpms under 2500.[/quote]

He is still doing city driving. So therefore he is still accelerating. When the RPM's are steady the car uses less fuel for the most part but when accelerating the car richens up the AFR. This is why city is lower then highway (unless you are a hybrid ).

The reason your milage is worse in the city is partly because of acceleration ( if you can't keep from having to stop your vehicle completely by staying about 5mph or more, you'll save 10% on gas) so yes accelerating eats up gas. But you also do a lot of stopping at traffic lights, which gets you 0 mpg... that's what hurts mpg aswell. Plus running your a/c will cut down on milage, and so will driving on the highway with the windows down. The most fuel effecient way to drive is highway, windows up, a/c off, but that's not very fun, and gets pretty stuffy. Another factor is that premium fuel burns just a bit slower than regualar, which can help increase the amount of miles you get out of each tank. Then there's all the other endless variables like elavation, temp... and so forth. But who cares right?

06 tc manual... i usually hit about 320mi before i refill... n on average.. i end up adding around 12.5gal... 91 octane gas every single time. lotsa mixed highway/sidestreet driving... kinda, sux if you ask me.. but i do love to accelerate fast...

I have the 06 5 speed with the TRD supercharger. Mix city and highway driving (daily commute) I get about 25-26 mpg. This weekend I took a road trip and got 29 on the way up, and so far after coming back, I have 330 miles on this tank and am at a little less than a quarter tank. I am looking at about 30-31 mpg on this tank. Even with the s/c...so I am a happy camper.
