Yup, as been mentioned many times, the Toyobaru is NOT the tC replacement. But your info there might be the most recent stuff we have. A 2.7L would be interesting though... I thought they were going with a 2.5.

No... that's the Toyobaru. Not the tC replacement.

wow, this thread is epic fail....scion iq them self stated it will be a tc and it will have a 2.7l 200hp motor,

THE TOYOBARU is a whole different car, dont expect that to cost in the 20's im think 30k+

most of toyotas lineup will have the 2.7l motor its a similar design to the 2az i remember reading toyotas new 2.7 motor just cant remember the name

Toyota has already said they're targeting low $20k for Toyobaru... I'd expect $23k or so.

Who cares if it has a 2.7L engine, just cause its gonna push out 200hp dosent mean it will compete with the civic si, you still gotta hope they dont make the car heavier than what it is now.

This kinda makes me mad. Why didn't they just put this engine in from the beginning. it would have ended all those GD youtube videos of Civic Si's pulling on tC's before they ever even started. Also why is it that the Si has no problem getting 200 N/A hp from a 2.0L while Scion has to use either a S/C or a 2.7L engine to get the same amount of power. I know there is more torque available, but sheesh! I'm about to say just screw it all and drop in a J-spec 3sgte and call it a day. I had one in my 6th gen Celica GT back in the day before it got totalled, running about 425hp, and let me tell you there is no quicker way to pizz off a Mustang Cobra owner than to spool up on him and watch as he fades in your rear view mirror

Ok people stop all this he said, she said junk!

The toyobaru keeps gettign confused with the new tc apparently! Hey noobs read up before posting stuff thats old and just plain speculation.

The new tc will be based on the fuse! Motor and hp ratings i dont know but the rumor is 2.7l but i doubt 190. this is supposed to be for the younger crowd and for a first car. I would say 175hp to the flywheel.

This is gettign locked cause im tired of seeign these threads pop up from newbs all the time who dont know jack. Plus until its in writing stop posting this junk!
