I dont know I have been driving it for 2 years and I learned on it so I don't really have a problem with it.

I have no issues with it at all and think it works perfect. My fiance has only driven a couple of sticks and she thinks the tC's is very easy compared to the other two she drove (my older saturn and mustang). I have been driving them longer than I have been legal to drive, and think it works just fine. Practice practice.

man I can't believe people complain about the tC clutch. Try a 1981 Ford Bronco. Good grief, you guys don't know how good you have it.

I'm with you. . . I think most people just havn't driven enough cars are really exaggerate their experience. If you've EVER driven a Porsche 911, you would know the definition of delayed engagement. . . and it's a VERY normal thing.

Ford Ranger MT- longer than the tC. Porsche 911 MT - longer than the tC. BMW 330ci MT, same thing. In fact, most cars I drive have long throws and early engagement, except for Honda Civics, Kia Rio's, and the like. . .

The only expensive car I've driven with a short throw would be a 355 spyder (don't ask, long story).

The only thing that you could complain about with the tC's clutch is that it is somewhat overboosted, but it's designed that way to be easier to manage in traffic.

I've had mine for 11 months and I have been driving a clutch for 8 years. I do find the TC clutch to be smooth and clean..... 99% of the time, and then there are the few times I get 1/2 second to hasty to shift and don't stick 2nd/3rd gear.... but that could be 100% me and not the car....

Also, there is no "delayed" clutch. It may have an engagement point later than others, but that just means you have to learn the pedal positioning at the engagement point. As many have mentioned, those that have been driving longer realize how nice this clutch is. It isnt top of the industry, but there is nothing wrong with the way it works.

Yea, I had a 70 Ford P/U as my learner. Before this was an E30 Bmw, and the clutch was very similar in the smoothness (both hydraulic), but the tC is definiately softer.

Yeah, i definitly have not driven an old school tranny like that. Im just comparing my experiences on the tC with the cars I learned stick on (1996 Audi A4, SVT Contour). That SVT with a Stage 1 was easier to drive, when I was still learning, than the tC is for me today...i dont know, maybe im just screwed up

Learn to drive. The tC 5 speed is one of the nicest I've driven.

i drove around a good bit today with the clutch stop mod and i like it, it seems to help out. the shorter pedal movement seems nice so far. it's worth a try and it's always reversable if you don't like it.

yeah, the tc stock clutch would have to be up there in the top 5 for very "user friendly" clutches.....
