Default silent exhaust

This question was asked in the xA/xB power hungry.
but i ask it here about the tC.

Is there quite exhaust for the tC?

I dont want anything loud, just a diffrence over stock. something that you can make it sound nice but not loud.

well.. that is a very subjective question... i have the TRD axle back exhaust... and it sound very nice without being too loud.. YET.. my causin who has the identicle car.. drove mine and he says it is too loud for his taste.. so.. what is loud or not is up to you.. the TRD is no where near as loud as those aftermarket mufflers i see around and hear around.. yet it is deep... the borla is close to the same..

personally ..i think the TRD or Borla is going to be your best bet if your looking for "not too loud" exhaust.... also.. from what you read on this site.. if you do go with a header , that changes the tone of the exhaust aswell..

Default exhaust

The TRD sounded great until I mod'd my motor. A header will kill any quietness in any muffler. you need to do all motor upgrades first, then have a custom exhaust done. Most exhaust manufacturers do not engineer exhausts with headers and s-pipes in mind.
Unfortunetly for me, I sound like a frickin civic or a ____ed off lawn mower. Am putting on zpi head next month, after that, i will have a custom exhaust done. I will be selling my TRD Exhaust then too.

Most people aren't complaining about how loud the stock exhaust is....

Other than that... yeah loudness.

Try a stock muffler with 2.5" pipe.

I'm going back to stock pretty soon on my xB. I had the deepest, lowest tone of all the xBs I heard.... But I still got tired of the annoying freeway drone

I do travel 50+ miles a day for work though, so your needs might be different.

the TRD exhaust sounds pretty good IMO. I have also seen one tC with the HKS exhaust installed and I was really surprized by how well it sounded. It was not too loud at all and sounded great. Anyone else with the HKS exhaust have similar results?

2.5" custom exhaust with 2 resonators and a twin-loop muffler. that should turn out pretty quiet but might be a lil pricey.

sorry, if i had the money to put together a system like that, i'd def have a sound clip up.

i did some research and a Hytech twin loop muffler can be had for $395+s&h. add that with 2 magnaflow resonators and 2.5" piping and you got a sweet exhaust system with a very stealth exhaust tone.

I have the HKS, nothing else yet. Already broken in and it has a very nice deep tone to it. Agressive sounding on accleration and very quiet cruising (in cabin) noticeable tone outside..

Dont have the means to post a sound clip.
