Default Slow AT shifts during Nitrous

So during WOT w/o nitrous my shifts are quick and crisp. During nitrous runs they are long. What could this be? Is it because of all the power the transmission is receiving or because the nitrous doesnt turn off during shifts? Im thinking a window switch will fix this problem some but maybe I just need an engine damper? Oil was changed on the transmission like two weeks ago and yes I have a transmission cooler installed.

the only thing i could guess at is the transmission is unable to handle the power and is slipping

otherwise i have no idea - hasnt happened to me

how much nitrous are you putting in? try stepping down to a 35 shot and see what happens!

how do you launch at 2200 rpms?

are you neutral dropping it? (that's horrible for your tranny... not to mention that you are running nitrous on top of that stress.... youch!)

does brake torquing really help? doesnt it put stress on the engine and tranny?

hey if you are running nitrous you really arnt worried about that kinda stuff but it is more the brakes than the tranny and it is not going to hurt anything at all if you are doing it at the tree for like 1 sec come on guys and yes brake torquing really helps

not really, it is much more then tranny. That is a lot of torque to be holding back. it is also making A LOT of heat in the tranny. stress and heat are the 2 main reasons why AT's break down.
Also, theres lots more stress on the brakes when stopping at 50~ mph then there is when youre brake torquing. Theres no actual friction between the rotors and the calipers when the car isnt moving

Everybody that races an auto tranny has to powerbrake it. That's the only way you're going to get a decent launch. Plus you'll need to shift it manually, as opposed to what I saw a bunch of people saying in another thread ("just let it shift itself, that's the best").

Isn't shifting an auto like a manual really bad? And besides when you do that, the engine shifts even slower in my opinion because you have to take your foot off the gas. Eh, maybe it does work but I haven't been able to make it. lol.

Dude you dont need to shift it manually. Basically what I think will fix my problem is getting a window switch to cut off the nitrous right before it shift. 6100rpm. And NO i will not go down to a 35 shot!!!

why wont you go down to a 35 shot? that will let you know if the tranny is slipping because of too much power... if the tranny still is acting up on a 35 shot, then you know you have other problems...

a window switch wont help between shifts, you pick two RPM levels and nitrous will only spray in those levels... usually 3000-6100 is a good range... during a shift you are definately in that range.... so tell me again, what's the point?

Oil was changed on the transmission like two weeks ago and yes I have a transmission cooler installed.
maybe that's your problem, you put oil in the automatic transmission fluid lines!!! also, consider using synthetic atf as it will keep temps down!

don't waste money on a window switch if you think it's going to help your shifts (it wont, but it would help you from triggering nitrous at too low of an rpm level...

good luck! and I hope you get some help from my advice
