Default So I took out the Air Filter and I feel faster!!

I keep on hearing that the supercharger air filter is too restrictive and so I took it out and just left the thinner top layer in the air box. On my drive to campus, I did feel that the car picked up quicker and it feels faster...I don't know if it was just mental, but maybe for those who had done what I did can chime in about it. For those who haven't, you can try it yourself and see if you feel a difference.

Take out the seats and carpet too.
While you're at it, take out the glass and sand down the paint.
You'll be haulin' a$$

Not the best idea.

And for those who haven't tried it; don't.

it's all my fault, he asked me about a post i wrote that mentioned how zpi got more whp doing a dyno run on a stock supercharged tc with and without the lower half of the airbox on.

http://www.zeropointindustries.net/g...ynoCharts/trd3

and

http://www.zeropointindustries.net/g...ynoCharts/trd2

just so everybody knows where he got the idea from. but let the record show i advised him against it!

That's not safe either. The thick filter is your actual air filter. The thin one up top is just the carbon filter to meet CARB emission specs. Put it back on asap.

yea put it back. 2 horses are not worth paying for an engine.. it sounds cool and obviously flows better (no restrictive filter), but it is clearly no worth it..
