Default Somethings Wrong.

I think something is wrong with my scion. I have noticed a decrease in acceleration since I put my Injen Intake in about a month ago and I thought it was just me looking for problems with the new part but I did a 0-60 test against my friends stock tc and 3/3 times he pulled ahead. Any ideas? All the hoses on the intake are tight.

You've figured out that a CAI will help you above 4k RPM, and kill you everywhere else, so your car is slower now?

But it is pretty, and it makes nice noises.

Go back and check all of the mounting points, maybe its leaking from somewhere, does not hurt to look right? good luck.

You did reset the ECU at some point after the install, right? Just disconnect the neg battery for a few min and reconnect. Then let it idle for about 10 min until it sounds normal again?

I reset the ECU already I guess I could try again. I will also check for leaks.

Leaks will do nothing unless they are between the MAF and the TB. It is a tube, from which the engine pulls air.

Honestly, a CAI does almost nothing to begin with, and it would not surprise me to learn that your low end suffered a bit. Hence the reason that vendors can claim higher hp numbers than sounds correct, yet you see no time improvments on the track with them.

You should not notice a difference either way actually, I could tell zero difference between a CAI and stock on a tC.
