Default Stock Oil Pressure

Can anyone tell me what our oil pressure is when the car is cold at idle and WOT to redline? Also when the car is warmed up?

im gonna agree with Ace though, maybe a little less when its warm, pending whether u use 5w-20 or 5w-30

Cruise PSI around 50-70, cold start 60-70, hot idle 10-20, WOT 80-90, 5w30,, just my opinion 07-09 might be slightly higher

Cold idle - 10 psi
Warm idle - 5-6 psi
Cold redline - don't do it
Warm - redline - 60-80 psi

10 psi!!!!!!!!!!!!

that is ridiculously low.....

my 383 stroker runs 75 cold start up, 65 hot idle....

wow.....10 psi....no wonder the motor has trouble holding up, and turbos seem to breakdown..

Thanks, Garabaldy - I wonder if your restrictor is affecting the pressure at all? Or no, because the pressure sender is before the restrictor?

I'm guessing the restrictor is not affecting the pressure reading since you say you get 60-80 at redline..

Thanks for the info - I was wondering because I think I'll run a restrictor anyways even on a non GT (or ball-bearing) turbo. I don't think it will hurt the turbo, as long as oil is getting there.

10PSI means that it's too low and that will cause your oil light to turn on.

i gotta agree here and re iterate my staement... i mean i have three different vehicles with actual guages, and they all read MINIMUM 30 PSI at a HOT idle, with two of them at 40-60 minimum......

Well, the 4G63 runs at 4.2psi at idle, so I guess it's not impossible.

Definetly makes me not trust the engine.....call me old fashioned, but i would prefer much more pressure then that...

true....but just under my expierence...which does not include four cylinders...I've always seen much higher numbers...

guess time will be the best indicator there...

Well, Camry's have been holding up for a few hundred thousand miles, and we have the same engine, so I wouldn't worry about it. If you're that worried about it, get a Prosport Premium Peak Oil Pressure Gauge, set the minimum warning to 3 or 4 PSI and it will scream at you whenever it drops below that.

I've actualy questioned this before on these forums...

my gauge says
~ 40psi warm idle
~ 90psi cold idle
~ 90psi warm cruising
> 100psi redline

Mobile one 5w30 synthetic
cold idle - can't remember maybe 20 psi
hot cruise - 40psi
hot idle - 10 psi
wot just under 60psi

This is with an Autometer full sweep electronic oil pressure gauge.
