Default sudden jerks at high MPH

alright so im in ohio and incase you didnt know its been raining for abut a solid 5 days straight so taking that into consideration ive been very careful to not to drive through large puddles do to my CAI (injen no bypass) and i have full fender liners so with that being said not sure how much water could get to it

but on my way to class today when i hit speed of about 80MPH i noticed like hard jerking and boggin in 5th gear and i was like hmm so i down shifted to 4th and accelrated hard to about 85 and it started doing it really bad so i went back to 50th and cruised at about 78-80 and then slowely would start going back up to 85-90 and eventually it stopped and i did it a couple more times and nothing so i was like hmm weird

well on my way home from class today it did it again in 5th so i down shifted to 4th and it did it but not nearly as bad as the first time but kept doing it so i slowed down because im not sure of what could be causing this issue.

the only thing i can think of is water but im really not sure where to go with this or what do.
car starts fine idles fine and doesnt do it on a RPM bases because i WOT 1-3 and didnt do it.

would there be any way of really checking this without just replacing it and how come it only does it at high rates of speed
