Ok. replaced my bosch 102 (stock BPV) with bosch 110 sport (ones I have gotten in the past for my audis)
Let me tell you that there is a HUGE difference friends. No kidding I am not hyping this up. Now the kit was/is worth the money.
Boost is present at 3000 rpm now instead of 4000rpm. Acceleration is 'thicker' and is 100% better in response. Torque is much MUCH more present in the butt dyno. You can actually feel the pull. I plugged the leaky boost!
Just wow. Power band is amazingly solid now from 3000rpm to redline. Fun FUN!

The bosch 110 sport looks identical to the stock 102 one in the kit. That is where the similarities end.
At a glance the only difference between the two from the outside is the last 3 numbers printed on the BPV itself. That makes it extremely stealthy and I highly doubt a tech would know the difference unless the BPV was taken out and turned around to read the last 3 numbers.
The 110 sports are way better in quality hands down... Instead of a cheap plastic shell, cheap plastic diaphragm, and spring, you now have a metal diaphragm and a stiffer spring. The 110 sports are made of a higher quality plastic too. These babies were made to take a beating in 400hp biturbo audis!
If you don't get the 110 sports, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND putting a smile on your face by replacing the stock POS bpv in the TRD kit. The 110s are in a good price range: 62.00USD shipped.
Next summer I will probably replace the 110s with a coveted forge 007p. (140.00USD
)
I can't wait for a better CAI system and pulleys.... Time to upgrade the brakes!

About time one of you popped that bad boy on there. Thanks man. It's working well? My only guess is that TRD thought there was enough torque and let the BPV bleed (with a weak spring) some of the air back to keep traction to the wheels on launches.
Now, I am not 100% on how exactly this BPV works. But in thought wouldn't it work just like a wastegate and a bov in one? Maybe someone could explain that to us real quick.

NM. Apparently it was just as I thought. It's a BOV/BPV, not a wastegate as well. This is from the HKS website.
HKS Standard and Racing Bypass valves are push-type valves that utilize calibrated spring rate and vacuum line pressure to remain closed against the pressurized air in the charge pipe. As the throttle plate closes, vacuum is created in the line and combined with the force of the pressurized air in the charge pipe, the blow off valve pushes open and allows pressurized air to escape.

Now, I am not 100% on how exactly this BPV works. But in thought wouldn't it work just like a wastegate and a bov in one? Maybe someone could explain that to us real quick.

For mine I purchased an HKS ssqv and bought the 1" recirc nozzle and also a 1" input pipe. Have not got to test it yet as I am installing the sc this weekend but should hold up no prob just like yours

Googled and read "quickly" through a few forum posts. Seems you can snag a Bosch 110 or 115 (i think it might be the replacement for the 110?) from a VW dealer for around 35 bucks. Call the parts department and find out.

Early production vehicles had a Bosch bypass valve with the number ending in 108 or Audi 710A which due to problems would eventually be superceded by a Bosch 114 or Audi 710N. This valve was far better in performance but still not completely reliable especially under modified conditions.
MTM did extensive research on various bypass valves for their 400 -500HP kits and came up with the Bosch Sport Valve 110 being the best in performance and durability, even over more expensive aftermarket valves. At JHM we also tested various options and concur with MTM’s findings. With the Bosch Sport Valve the boost recovery and throttle response are enhanced significantly and since it is dimensionally the same as the original the installation is simple.
As stated in Audi’s technical bulletin dated Dec. 8, 2000 the bypass valves should be replaced should the following occur: “Groaning or howling noise from engine compartment when accelerating during partial load between 2500-3000 RPM,” or “ Rattling noise when decelerating between 2000-3000 RPM,” which “may be caused by the internal diaphragm of the charge pressure bypass valve producing pulsating noises.

i got my bov last week its made by OBX an upgrade for the stock bpv for the audis and yes it does make the car pull sooner and more broad. ill post pics. I just finished installing my APEX super afcII and my direct port, ill get dynos soon..

Well if you have a bad BPV, and losing boost, then I guess you are adding more power by fixing it. BPVs don't add power but aids it.
