Default Tanabe Concept G exhaust installed

Hey SL,

With baited breath I anxiously waited for my Tanabe Concept G exhaust from showstoppersusa.com and today it finally arrived. I'll let the photos do the talking...

Obligatory box-shots:

It emerges from the box:

Decals and a special rubber hanger!

Product shots of the exhaust:

Out with the old:

In with the new:

Fitment and clearance:
Yes - My car is dirty. I quickly rectified that after the install.

Yes - My shoe looks ratty and Yes there is a small melted portion of my exhaust cutout. We won't get into this. Suffice it to say I know better now....

Some more post-install pics:

My car is clean and happy, and so am I:

Install couldn't be simpler. Stock exhaust bolts worked perfect and I didn't need the two stock rubber hangers anymore. It sounds sweet! Haven't had a chance to take it out on the highway yet, though.

Sound and video clips to follow - or when I get around to it....

Why not? I didn't want this thread to to useless without pics, although a thread about an exhaust is still pretty useless without sound clips

Dropped on Tein H-Techs.

does the melted part in your exhaust cutout caused by your tanabe exhaust? or your stock exhaust?

Thanks a ton for posting this. I picked this exhaust out to be the one I'd most likely go with in the future, and now I know for sure what I had thought was probably the case... great looking exhaust and easy install. I like the idea of a quiet(er) exhaust that still adds looks and power. Any chance of a sound clip of it? Any plans to dyno?

How was the service with showstoppersusa? That's the best price I've seen for this exhaust.

love the angled canister, not really digging the small internal diameter of the canister. Where did you pick up that burn spot from??? Exhaust looks a little close to the bumper. it only took 1 day to wrinkle the paint around my bumper cutout with the injen exhaust, had to modify the hanger to drop it down a little.

Yes. Yes. If you don't have clips, tell us how it sounds. Does it sound nice and deep ? And what other mods do you have ?

I considered the Megan drift spec (I liked the deep rumbling sound at idle) but after some digging I found that the wool packing used in their sound muffling degrades over time... especially in moist weather.
I also figured that there is a reason why a full s-pipe back exhaust from one company is the cost of an axel back from another company.
