Default tC Clutch Sucks???

Ok so i seen more then a few post saying the clutch on the tc sucks..

I don't get it.. For a stock clutch its a damn good one. I driven alot of cars in my short life and i have to say the clutch on the tc is far from sucking?

How do you guys/gals feel about the tc clutch ?

It's got a bit of a learning curve, but it works for me.

Works fine for me and is plenty strong enough for stock power. If you look, many people who think it sucks are pretty young or have not driven many stick shifts, so of course if they mess up.. its the fault of the clutch :D

i think the only thing that needs work on the clutch is the length of traveling your foot needs to go to disengage it.. nothing a little screw and a DIY on here couldnt fix.. other then that its not bad for a stock clutch.

yup

Its a really easy clutch
I think they say it sucks just for the same reason I do. It is too easy of a clutch meaning you aren't ever working out your calves

I like the fact that the pedal isn't too stiff. I drove my dad's C5 a lil bit and man, that is one heavy clutch.

^^ I have tried both C5 and C6 and I agree, the clutches are very stiff compared to the tC.... but try a Mustang and the Vette doesnt seem too bad.
As for stock, I have driven cars w/ smoother clutches but the tC is far from bad. IMO, it may be a bit grabby for the beginner, but just fine otherwise. The worst cars I have driven w/ a manual were a V6 Mustang, and Ion Redline.

Yea, its a real light clutch. Great for somebody with lower back issues but still wants to drive a stick - just ask my dad!

I think its the easiest clutch i've ever driven. Seriously, I dont understand people complaining! I have had the car for 1.5 years now and have NEVER stalled it! On the other end, I have NEVER burnt it. It is sooo simple to drive and refused to stall.

I agree about the length, I would prefer if the clutch were a bit of a shorter throw. The weight isnt great, but its not a high end sports car. A shorter throw is the 1 thing i'd change

i love the stock clutch! my only complaint is the delay in between blipping the throttle but that doesnt have anything to do with the clutch.
vw isnt bad either.

go drive a honda and you will know what a soft clutch is. I drove my friends integra and when I rested my foot and the clutch, it sank right to the floor. I liked the feel of the tC clutch but there was too much dead space. It took a bit to get my driving nice and smooth.

^^ yea, but thats really the case with any car. Btw, I hope you dont rest your foot on the clutch. I dont know if that was an example of how easy it is, but I figured i'd just mention even though i'm sure you know that

haha, on old Civic it was like that too compared to the tC. The only other cars that I drove that had a lighter clutch were VW Golf 4 and Saab 95.
The xA/xB also have a very light clutch and IMO even easier to drive than the tC.

u know i used to think our clutch was pretty lame, but my buddy was lookin into a s/c cobalt and hadnt driven a m/t in a long while so i had to drive, and holy crap i didnt like that thing at all, u cant even feel it at all and the release is not smooth either it like stuck and jumped under my foot, so when i got back in my car my whole opinion changed, i love my clutch, at least as a stock clutch.

seriously! that car can cause a 1st time stick driver to not want to drive stick again!
