tC Proformance?

tC Proformance?
Well I've been hearing alot of things about these small cars. I've drove one, and I've raced many on the track.
These are economy cars am I right? 160hp factory rated. But the thing is, can any tC really run low 14s with bolt-ons? Without spray. Without FI.
I'm not calling no tC owners out, I'm not underestimating tCs. I live in DFW so I have seen Jotech's Nitto tC and Drag tC. It is something not to mess with.

The tC? You gotta drop some serious bucks to make it something to contend with if you're sitting in any actual sports car. In the economy world though, yea, the tC is kind of an econo speed demon I guess.
Low 14's is impossible with the simple stuff. Just straight bolt on, the best you'll get is a 14.98. Anything below 15.2 is pretty damn difficult with boltons.

Not true, it is possible, but will take work. Travis pulled a 14.8 @ the ZPI shootout last year with nothing more than a SS. Muffler, And intake i believe.
You would probably need a P&P and some high comp. pistons, with every other bolt on, but i think its possible.

Yes....looks like that is the only thing you are able to get.

Because I've been told by a guy that he runs 14.5s with bolt ons. and then when he sprays he smokes Evos, Stis, S2K, etc. etc. That's hard to believe. Is that BS or is that possible? Unless he's running like a 200 shot, I know for damn sure that the tC motor can not take that much spray on the stock block, since my S2000 has forged internals can't even take that much.

Just because low 14s hasn't been reached yet by a lot of tCs doesn't mean that it is impossible.
Using the right mix of internal mods, ie port and polish, higher compression, and a very good tune along with a mix of external bolts ons will help. Other things that would help and are often overlooked are weight reduction, a good suspension setup, and sticky tires.
Last but not least, practice and a good driver are required. Low 14s is possible

try and stay on topic, we havea guest in our forum inquiring about one of our whips and somehow we are arguing about hoes and lamborghini doors. the guy is probably looking at his screen thinking that tc drivers are a bunch of stupid *****.
anyway, the tc is almost an economy car, the problem is that it is geared with a close ratio 5 spd that keeps the rpms high and it sucks gas. it is alittle heavy but the engine has a generous torque curve that really starts to pull just above 3k rpms.
the tc is not a factory street racer, but it is a great starting point with good looks, a strong engine and lots of room for improvements, but no serious race car would come with a glass roof.
but take a peak for videos of turbocharged tc's winning drag races and 40 mph rolls. hell, check out the videos of the zpi turbocharged xb! that shocks me that there are xb's faster than supercharged tc's!

Anyways, money does make the world go 'round but bolt ons surely won't. The original question, I think, pertains to simple mods allowing him to run a 14.5. That's crap. Either he has more than simple mods or he's not hitting a 14.5.
As far as I understand the question as originally asked, no, a tC as described will NOT run a 14.5 second quarter mile.
