You can get a good turbo kit for 2k these days, four times the price. Which will give you 100 hp. So save up your money for something else. If you were already running a turbo application and looking for ways to squeeze out some more ponies it'd be a good buy. Granted 5hp is a lot on a car with 160 hp but there's no way you'd feel it. Maybe in throttle response but i don't think its a half second of throttle response that's costing you a race. Wherever it might be.

sigh.... and yet another person who has NOT seen Max's build... You do realize that he is building N/A. Not to mention that he is sitting around 210 hp (est).

He also pretty much revived a dead engine...

Just because it's "cheaper" to turbo a car, doesn't mean that everyone should.

I realize that BUT most people who ask about that aren't building an N/A monster. Also even with a fully built motor the throttle body isn't going to be your weak point. It may cost you 5 hp at most. I had a fully built N/A 2v mustang. Everything was built. I looked into throttle bodies. I dyno'd with a 65 mm throttle body and a 75 mm throttle body and the larger throttle body cost me 6 hp. This is often the case with N/A applications. Throwing the largest number part at it can actually hurt the cause. Even with the biggest cams and the biggest manifold and the biggst stroker kit the weak point isn't going to be the slightly smaller throttle body and i still don't think it's worth 400 dollars.

I still don't understand why someone would spend so much time and money on an NA SCION build. You spend 10 grand and net of about 270 rwph. Is it really worth it?

less likely to be caught in Cali, harder to notice under the hood, retains stock appearance plus if you boost later you net MORE power and keep engines alive
