Thermostat Temperature Problems
Hello I recently purchased a 2006 TC. It had a check engine light for the coolant temperature being low, so i decided to replace the thermostat. Befor replacing the thermostat the temperature would go to the middle of the temp guage then go back down. Now after replacing the thermostat the The temperature will go all the way up until right befor the red befor going back down. Sometime it sits there for a while. What is the normal range that the guage should read? for Every car i have ever owned it has been in the middle. Has anyone else had this happen after replacing their thermostat? Any help would be appreciated.

yup might be a faulty thermostat.. also check your coolant overflow AND the radiator make sure you have enough coolant.. but to check the real water temp you would need an OBDII reader

Im a bit embarrased to admit what my problem was but, I simply didnt run the car for long enough with the cap off to fill the radiator properly. Since filling it up the temperature has been every stable in the middle and I havent gotten my check engine light back. Thanks everyone for your help.
