Reread your post, bud. Your wording DID imply the K&N might have hydrolocking issues.

I think your reading to much into my post... YOU need to chill out... I'm not bashing the K&N so calm down. I like the K&N but I would just preferre to be safe than sorry.... I dont care if its possible to hydrolock a car or not.. I just wouldnt want to risk it. And I wouldn't want to have to take it out to get an inspection or have the dealership hassle me because I have an aftermarket intake on it.

I think that you implied it yourself! Not on your case but you can not tell me that it is 100 percent impossible to hydrolock a car... I just said that with the AEM its definitly not a worry! so the implication is on you.

maybe I shouldnt have created this post looks like its causing more arguements than anything... I thought the K&N Intake was street legal.. thought I read that somewhere... could be wrong.. either way.. I doubt the dealer is gonna care, one of their tester cars has alot of that stuff on it so

i really want the k&n, but i'm holding out for AEM to come out tho. I just want to see some product reviews. i worry a little about the CAI placement too. its not impossible for stuff to get up there. when you install it, you'll see there's plenty fo dirt up there...maybe even carried by water. at 80 mph, you can get stuff all over, under and in your car you never imagined possible. plus i live in IL (i know, luck me).
the k&n is configurable as a short ram too. i'd like to see dyno numbers between the two setups. for one points difference, short ram might be the answer.

Nice. Those stats are about what I expected, based on various threads about CAIs.
I know it sounds strange, but does a CAI somehow increase your mileage a little? I had heard that, too.

I Live in Chicago and im not to worried baout it hydrolocking, plus thats it onverts into short ram its a big plus, and one thing it is street legal considering AEM and Injen cant get theres out yet because of the Emmisions issue " Street Legal" version cause how else would K&N be able to get there intake out already and not InJen and AEM. And by the way look at every aftermarket part they all say "FOR OFF ROAD USE ONLY" on the side of the box or in the instructions.

I heard it will increase the MPG a lil... but as someone said most ppl getting the intake will be stomping the gas to feel the push and hear the noise so bye bye MPG hehe... but I think it helps a lilllll bit.. eh.. in this world.. extra MPG is a good thing

It's amazing how my tC has gotten me excited about driving again. Holy ____, people, I'm 50 friggin' years old! ROFL!!!
Noise? I don't care about no friggin' noise! ----- Well, maybe!
As for the gas mileage, my commute to work is about 68 miles each way. That's why I care about it. Except for tromping on that pedal on the right, I just don't want it to kill my mileage at normal speeds.

it wont it will hepl it out just a little but it depends are you highway or constant stop and go because tehn it wont a difference at all

it helps with the mpg maybe about 2-3 miles per gallon but on our 4 cylinders notto much in a big v8 thats a lot

With gas prices the way they are now -- and may be within a few months -- I'll take any increase at all.
Most other performance mods nail your mileage too much to be worth it for me.

That sounds like a lawyer-induced statement on their part. I would say the legality of CAIs varies from state to state, in fact.
