Default throttle body ticking?help

i have recently noticed a ticking noise comming from the throttle body area. I do have a K&N intake but i have had it for a long time and this noise has just started. I only hear it after the motor is completely warmed up and at idle, yet when i rev it to around 2k the ticking will stop, then continue once the rpms drop again. The ticking is very noticable sitting inside. The intake is not hitting on anything and everything else is tight. Im just wondering if anyone else has this problem or any suggestions? thanks guys

there are a number of related issues with this ticking. there are several types of ticking sounds.

for me, i have the ingalls damper and GFI w/ k&n drop in filter. i also have the plastic valve cover off. since then, i've been noticing a ticking sound when i'm accelerating. first tick would be when i press on the gas, and the second after i release the gas. it's weird.
