Default tore my intake lil help..pls

ok the rubber tubing that connects the pipe to the filter tore, i think i tightened the metal thing too much...so it tore up..so my question is...is there gonna be problems in case the it tears completely?? shud i take care of it right away...by the way its an injen....so shud i buy the injen filter, or cud i use any kind of filter, as long as it fits the pipe...??pls need some help...

Wait, so you tore part of the filter? Or part of the pvc hose or evap hose? If it's the filter, you can use the Injen Replacement.

hmm... just reposition the clamp so it's lower towards the filter more..?

yeah.. replacement should be fine..

if so, i would look into finding an AEM dryfilter that fits..
no hassles with oiling when time to clean.

ok that sounds great....ok bout the first question..i didnt tear the filter only the rubber tube where the clamp is holding.....and about the replacement..pls give a site where i can buy it..shud i buy the same injen filter or the AEM dry filter??and is it gonna fit...coz i heard the AEM filter a lil bigger than the injen..

I'd probably go with the Injen, although it would be easier for cleaning if the AEM dry filter fits, no oiling then, but I believe the diameter is a little larger. Ptuning.com, mcgeorgeparts.com, many other places have replacement filters for about 25-35 bucks. I think you will be fine to reposition the clamp, for now, as long as there isn't a big leak or anything.

yea ill probably just replace the filter...just to make sure..and oh yea..how long till u clean the filter?

but maybe check about 5-9K miles.. sure....
