Default TOWING! help?

I've got a trip to make from FL to CA with a U-Haul 4'X8' trailer. Just wanting to know if anyone else has towed so much without any problems?

-yes, I know the Scion tC is not made for towing. But is it possible and has it been done?

What do you guys think?

Thanks in advance!

not possible. maybe a bike rack, with no bike. rent a uhaul truck and get a dolly for the tc.

I wouldn't risk it. Your best bet is to rent a Van and a dolly...

Have the light stuff shipped and put the heavier items (tools and such) inside the tC. Will be the cheapest and safest way IMO.

i wouldn't do it either, especially such a long distance.
Think of it this way, the money you spend on a u-haul now you wont spend buying a new car later.

Sorry you got all this bad information last year. A 4x8 Uhaul trailer is easy to tow. Toyota doesn't rate any of their cars for towing in the US... but rates them all for towing in other countries (except the Prius).

I towed this for about 300 miles and got 31-32 MPG doing it!

Will Uhaul even let you rent the trailer to tow behind a tc? As far as I know, they will inspect the car you're hooking their trailer up to, to insure its rated for the load. Im thinking that would be your first problem. 2nd, I wouldnt ever tow anything with a tC - just doesnt seem like a good idea - the suspension on the tc is designed for 800 lbs of payload at max. Once you have you and a passenger, than you add the trailer, Im thinking its going to cause some issues. I have a feeling you could loose control of the trailer on a windy open highway or steep downhill grade pretty easy. Remember, you need to think about the worst case scenario - what happens if the car in front of you makes an emergency stop, would you be able to do the same with the trailer behind your tc? just my opinion though - never have and never will try it. I have a Tundra for towing, in fact it will be towing my tC to Asylum tommorow.

Im just talking about a hitch to put a dirt bike carrier on it. my bike weighs less than i do so im sure the car can handle the weight.

i just wonder if anyone has experience with a good hitch kit.

You can't run a bike carrier on our hitch. It has to be a class iv or higher hitch and ours is a class ii. I race and I just have a small trailer that I tow with the bike on it
