Tranny Question
I have an Auto Trans, and i was wondering if there was any way to change how the trans shifts. i want to be able to change the torque management (term used for GM vehicles i dunno if its a universal term) on it so that it shifts a little harder instead of baby it into gear like it does now.
if i did the trans upgrade from ZPI would that do it?? has anyone done this?
Thanks
Dan

^^^ If you find out let me know. I am a boosted Auto and want to make some upgrades. ZPI is the only company that I know of that has upgrades for the tC auto tranny. i called a couple other racing shops that build performance tranny's but they haven't ventured into the tC arena yet. Hopefully they will. I'm hoping to have a 300WHP auto soon. It CAN be done.

do you have any trans problems, i heard that turboed autos have shifting problems. have you heard any of that?

No 1/4 #'s yet. I know But i'll get those soon. I'm putting 240 HP/TQ at the wheels currently and so far the tranny is holding good. I just bought a tranny cooler and am going to do the ZPI valve body upgrade as well, for longevity and so it will hold more power. i've heard 240 is about the limit for the stock tranny. anything over that and you'll notice it slipping. But I don't beat on my car at all really. So in Vac, it shifts great. Even in boost it goes through the gears without any issues. But I do for see a tranny build in the near future. I want to be the first tC on here putting down 350WHP on an auto!!

i think you will be, b/c the other guy that was building his auto up (318_tC i think) gave up and converted to manual.
put up a post when you get the ZPI Trans rebuild done, cuz im interested in doing it too, but im not looking for it to hold n e more power, i just want it to accellerate quicker due to the quicker shift times.
thanx for the help, keep me posted.
