trans cooler for auto question
anyone know if this improves time on the quarter mile... i would not think so but i did a search on here and someone claimed they were running 15.9's and then put this on their auto and got to 15.6's.... does it have that much of an effect or is this bs like i suspect?

Are you turbo? It's pretty much a necessity there. If not, you probably won't need it, though it won't hurt and will prolong transmission life. The B&M supercooler is a cinch to install, just two hoses routed in line after the stock oil cooler in the radiator.

no im not turbo, but i do shoot nitrous...
so basically it will NOT help the quarter mile time then? anyone got a link to a valve body upgrade or know the general cost for something like this... how about a torque converter for autos?

How do they compare to Level10? Haven't heard of them before but price definately looks better. Here's level 10 for comparison.

also.. which would u guys recommend doing first for the auto transmission... a torque converter or the valve body upgrade? which will make the better improvement on the quarter mile, and would a trans cooler be required for either?

hmm.. asked a couple friends and they said torque converter first lol.. guess its just preference...
anyone know the timetable it takes to get thse back when u send them in to level10 or ipt? it sucks having to wait and not be able to drive my car

Those are all transmission models, not engine model numbers. If you're not turbo, you don't need the upgraded torque convertor. It allows you to run higher RPM at launch, but the tC already has good low-end torque and you don't have a turbo to spool. You'll only see benifit on higher than stock horsepower applications where the power band gets shifted to the upper end. A valve job will be noticable even on a stock engine and give you a quicker shift.

If you're worried about down time, buy a spare used transmission. It's getting rebuilt anyway. http://www.car-part.com has them starting at $400. Build the spare and then you're only down for the install time.

I dont see how the valvebody would shorten the life of the trans.
Usally if you get your valvebody to IPT they try to get it out the same day they recive it if it gets delivered in the morning. If they are expecting it once they recive it they jump right on it becasue they understand that we need our cars. I had mine sent there done and back to me within three days.
The valvebody makes a very big difference. I know I added a 2.5 s-pipe and the valve body and on the base dyno run I gained a total of 20 WHP.
I would say the valvebody is deffently more important thing to do first. Also we have the 241 trans just so you know.
