Default trd + s pipe = cat back?

hey fellas....just got my 06 tc today with trd exhaust and ground effects. Just wondering whats the difference between a full cat back exhaust and an axle back exhaust like my trd matched with an s-pipe? I like the sound of the trd exhaust and im planning on getting the injen intake which sounds sweet. But i also want less restriction in my exhuast since its only an axle back...so im kinda a noob when it comes to exhausts so need some help... THX

You still need a mid-pipe. Although there are no bends in it, you can still upgrade to a hi-flow cat and increase the size to 2.5".

Header -> S-pipe -> Mid-pipe -> Axle-back.
