I'm looking for an Exhaust for my 08 tC. Its an auto so its not like im going crazy with various performance mods, just a little sound to give it more life lol. The easiest route would be the TRD exhaust but the muffler is small and its not as loud as I want it to be.
I really want the Megan catback exhaust, how is this exhaust? I like how it sounds, does anyone have any sites where to purchase it? Or should I just go to a shop to have them order/install it. Also how is the Injen exhaust?
Some videos on Youtube I like how it sounds, others not really, is it a good exhaust?

Can anyone give me some friendly tips or pros/cons or suggestions?

most exhausts won't net you any substantial gains, go with what you like the best. (i'm very happy with my injen)

 

thats true beedee, it all depends on what u like cuz they are all only give a 5-8 hp gain, i have a greddy evo2 it has like 6 hp gain but its not loud enough for me

 

I've heard that the TRD exhaust doesn't add much power, but so far I'm liking mine. Gives the car a bit more oomph sound without being raspy, and looks nice without being coffee-can style.

 

I have TRD and i love it . A lot of people say its loud like if there outside of my car or behind me driving lol They asked me if i had headers in my car too which i dont bc mines auto n it jus sounds like crap w.an auto

 

Ok there scion tc guy your greddy dotn give you 6hp. Its an axleback its pretty much for sound maybe 1-3 hp at most. But the Megan catback is nice my buddy has it. Sounds awesome in person. Hangs a lil low but thats fine. i like how it has the little burble thign to it when you decellerate. I believe showstoppersusa has a sale on the Megan drift spec for 315shipped and thats a catback. Go to sponsored classifieds and look for it. Oh and TRD exhaust sucks the Injen is alright but i see no point in paying that much for an axleback when i can have a catback that sounds better.

 

Performance wise, they're no different... so go with:

) What looks best - the Injen
and
) What sounds best - the Injen

Also, Injen has a better QA department than Megan Racing, which is comprised of inbred children.

hahah there are soo many threads about this stuff already. but if i give you any info it would be to STAY AWAY from the TRD and BORLA exhaust.

 

ive had no problems with my trd so idk why everyone hates on it but whatever its just an opinion thats why i dont take ppls opinions i do what i like.. i dont give a sh*t what people think .. its your car so you make the right decision.

 

Anyway, back in on-topic land... okay, TRD isn't bad. But, like any TRD product for our car, it's basically a tame version of whatever else is on the aftermarket.

Personally, I hate the Megan Racing one. It looks stupid, it's crooked, it sounds awful, and it was made by idiots.

The Injen one, however, is straight, sounds quite nice (especially with an Injen SRI), and has a very nice looking taper on it's tip (as opposed to a piece of metal just sort of... ending, like the MR one). Also, it won't break in two years and actually fits exactly like it should, unlike any of Megan Racing's products.

 

injen isnt bad my friend has it and it sounds good. . that was an option for me but stuck w. trd since some1 was selling theres

 

All exhausts on an 08 sound like crap.

 

you get noo performance gain from the TRD exhaust. its just for sound.

i have yet to see a dyno on the trd axle backs gains, and yet thiers always negative talk?

 

I liked my TRD for a while........sounds good......clean sound......not too loud.......not too quiet......but..........then again.......it is a bit too quiet for me.......a little tame on the visual......heavy.......and a pain to keep clean and polished......

I like the Injen.......has a great sound.........but still not too loud.......and looks great.......

Depending on how big a can you want and how loud you want is what ends up being best......my next step is Agency Power cat back.......sounds great......looks great........well made........only downside is it is spendy.......

But of the 3 you listed interest in the Ingen is a nice exhaust.....

 

Nobody needs to see a dyno; the TRD exhaust, by design, is going to be quieter and have less (we're only talking 2-3hp) gains than any other exhaust. That's just how it's made.

And even then, the exhausts on our N/A cars are more for sound than they are for performance.

 

ive really never heard a trd sound good on a tc but some odd reason mine is pretty loud for a trd ..got broguht up to me the other night at a car meet .. and i have stock headers in my car ..i would neverrr put headers in a automatic tc lmao unless if i wana sound like a honda :-X
