Default Tuning an N/A

ok i'ev searched like a B for this and having found anything. im back to N/A and have already bought all of my parts i had b4 the turbo chapter of my tC's life. TRD Intake, DC Header, Invidia, S-pipe, Magnaflow cat back. ok so of course. the car runs mad rich. well im tryna squeeze out every bit of power i can from this little 2AZ. and without boost im aiming for 14's a 14.8 would make me happy but a 14.9 is fine. its standing at a 15.1 right now.

this is where the tuning comes in. i still have my Emanage Ultimate left over from my old turbo kit. i've talked with my tuner about doing an NA tune to possible lean it out and pull out sum ponies or advance the timing on 93 octane or sumthing like that. his response is "you WILL get a gain im sure. but depending on how reserved the stock tune on the tC is, you may not get much. or u may get 15lb/ft torque or sumthing to that degree. i'd have no way of really knowing for sure to say its worth the money" so i turn to you SL. im SURE sumone here has tuned an N/A tC without major internal work. i contacted one fellow but got no response. does anybody know or heard of anything that anyone else has done as far as a tune on the N/A 2AZ? i dont mind more torque and i def dont mind anything that will give the tC more top end cuz it has none IMO coming from owning Honda's b4 this.

I tuned mine and got a little gain not sure exactly cause I lost the dyno sheets, but I remember that it made more power with a leaner afr, and maximum torque came a few hundred rpms quicker.

tcpete did N/A, but he had internal work done. So that doesn't help you much. But good luck with it.

Id say do it even if the gain isn't that great you will get better gas mileage.

I want to do the same thing. My car is runnin rich i think. I have i/h/e and when i get on it it smokes in the higher rpms (black smoke) i have dynoed the car w/ this setup and the best of 3 runs was 164 whp and 163 tq. Not bad but i think i can get a bit more w/ an AEM f/ic and so does the guy that dynoed it for me.

Heres the video of me revin it up. See the black smoke, and no i didnt put diesal fuel in my tank. lol lol

for NA i would suggest greddy ultimate, u can advance timing vs the fic where u can only retard timing. i dont think anyone has gone over 200 whp NA without extensive mods. id say dont expect over 175 with just basic bolt ons, even that is being generous.
