Default Turbo Kit

Hey everyone, I just want to let you know that my Scion TC is getting some work done!! I just dropped it off at Toyomoto for a turbo kit. For those of you who don’t know about Toyomoto, Toyomoto is a very well known performance shop located in Miami. They usually work on high performance Supras and Lexus's. Lance, the owner, is personally involved in the development of a full-blown turbo kit for the Scion TC and he is using my TC as a Guinea pig. He will be developing 2, maybe 3 different turbo kits for the TC. He is in the process of building 2 different exhaust manifolds and has 2 different turbos which he can test. He has a custom made high performance clutch and disk, front mount intercooler, 2 different computers including a Haltec, limited slip differential, external wastages, bigger injectors, uummm that is all I can remember now, but I will keep all of you posted as it progresses. I have no doubt in my mind that it will be a great kit, everything Toyomoto does is of high quality. I will get a dyno sheet to test before and after the turbo installation so we can compare. I have the utmost confidence in Toyomoto and know they will have a great product for everyone.

Thats awesome. I drove down to Toyomoto from Detroit ot get my shift kit, etc installed on my IS300. Lance is friggin awesome. Very smart. It was hot as hell. I'd suggest going there, because while he works, you can check out the sights on south beach

Sounds good so far but I'm really curious as to how well the custom built clutches hold up. I've dealt with those in the past and they SHATTERED almost instantly with some track abuse. Hopefully he has a different build quality and uses higher quality material.

Also, being part of Dezod.com, we are in the development of also producing a 2 stage turbo kit for the tC. We will start out scouting and building next week. Look for updates in the future.

Well, it all depends, there is 2 different exhaust manifolds available. One off them is already made, if I pick that one it will be ready in about 2 to 3 weeks. If I pick the other one it will probable take about 6 weeks. I’m just guessing, it may be sooner than that. I will keep all of you posted.

use greddy type S (or RS) for a BOV, recirc it, and dump your wastegate into your exhaust.

I want to see how quiet that would be LOL

All we are waiting for is the exhaust manifold to arrive. It should be here in about 2 weeks and the kit should be installed in a couple of days after that. It should be ready for the beginning or mid of next month if everything goes well. I will keep posting as things go on….

The larger the core does not mean a pressure drop. For example, the core than John Shepherd ran last season has less has less than 0.5psi drop and is lowering intake temps to near ambient levels.

Also, the aspect ratio on a turbo does not affect spool as much as you might imagine. Our 2L's are spooling 1.06 a/r T4 housings, which would be like a 1.3x T3 housing for comparison. Spooling is a driver issue, not a turbo issue.
