Umnitza Intake fitted
I got my umnitza intake and i am pleasantly suprised
20 min install time (I know there is not a lot to it)
MUCH better throttle response with a nice low resonance to the tone that wasnt there before and at 5 grand you can hear it drawing air.
It seems to make the trd exhaust whistle more too?(dont know why?)
Most importantly it looks different from the holy trinity of WEAPON R/K&N/INJEN
I have no idea about exact hp increases (if any)
ANYONE ELSE GOT ONE?

hahaha same thing i said when i saw pics of it a while back but the sound of it is awsome there is a video some where on the forum. i wish it had a proven power gain then i might get it also how do you change the filter on it???

I think to change the filter you would have to take out the CF cover and just pull the filter out but if only seen the inside of the Mazda 3 intake which seems like thats what you do

Whoa, dude! You can mold carbon fiber at home? Amazing.. absolutely amazing..
BTW, the filter sits inside the CF heat shielded box. So basically it's a short ram and a heat shield - it's not like the stock box with a drop in filter. It should theoretically make the gains of a cold air intake (since it's shielded from engine bay air and allows air into the box from outside) whilst keeping the low end performance of an SRI (due to the shortened length of the intake. )

You guys have to realize that most intakes make power off of either tuning resonance, reducing restriction, or both. The "cold" air doesn't make that much of a difference at all because for thermo. equations, temperature is measured in K, which is celsius+273. The difference in density usually ends up being only a few percent, which is basically nothing.

yea, CAIs usually make a tiny bit more HP and some losses down low. CAIs get cooler air which is denser but has the risk of hydrolock. I like the umnitza intake but its expensive for just the carbonfiber housing and an cone filter. Would be more resonably with some sort of tubing with the package instead of having to use the stock one.

If they'd post a dyno of this intake that showed some gains, I'd definitely consider it. I saw their dyno of a similar intake for the Mazda 3 with some gains, but that doesn't necessarily tell me anything about this particular intake.
