Let me respond seriously too you all.

oh and there is no manual tranny, so yeah why?

btw not trying to be a hater, if you reply with something like, oh i just wanted to be the only v6 tc then i can respect that whole heartedly, but if your goal was power then wtf?! just turbo the 2az! anyway much respect on the swap 1mzfe just not my favorite motor.

thanks for it being a toyota motor tho!
The engine's not being left stock. it will be built, just not at this moment, as it's getting there one piece at a time. (the motor mounts are getting finished as we speak). My plan is to bring 10-15psi to the engine over the summer. i even know the weak parts of the engine that have to be swapped first.

i'm not offended at all. We knew from the begining that everything was to be fabbed, and it's not that big of a deal to us. We did our research, and found this engine to be the most suitable for the swap (knowing that it wasn't a boost friendly engine, let alone most part's would have to be fabbed. Really, it's an engine swap.. it's not like we thought we'd have a 450whp beast out the gate.

unfortunately i can not find a SC for the life of me. but if i do end up finding one and going SC, here's some estimates to mull over.. 10psi = 343hp/373tq. (Remember that's at the crank). if i decide to turbo, i can expect slightly larger numbers, along with more room for expansion.

When i boost, i'm boostin a 10.72:1 (i believe that's the real number, although it's advertised to be 10.5:1) engine.. that only feels comfortable around 7psi. The part of the engine that is most week, are the pistons.

As for weight, the engine weighs in a little over 1/5 more then the tC engine. i don't have the number's on me, but i think that was about the calculation. it may be more then that.. i just don't remember, because that was dealt with way back when we were concerned about suspension.

I have 93 v6 camry and it's not a exact same engine (few more upgrades on yours) but it's still pretty powerful.

if i remember correctly, the last V6 Camry i drove, was pretty peppy for a sedan. i'm pretty eager to actually drive this thing soon enough.

Btw. here's one of the motor mounts that's been fabricated. for who ever's interested.

i just can't get over the simplicity (compared to stock) this is, yet how effective it will be.

I am so jealous! The 1MZ motors hp output over the 2AZ may not be jaw dropping of the bat, what omg, you have soooo much potential with that motor! I don’t know much about what you could do, but I’m pretty sure you could have real duel exhaust from the headers back, bore the cylinders, or even twin turbo! Keep us up to date and tell us what you do after you’ve been running it a while. Looking forward to it! Oh and is it vvt-i?

We avoided vvti for tuning's sake. My temporary plans for exhaust are pretty simple (and loud) being a glass pack and turn down. Once i go boost, it will be a slightly different story though, but doubt i'll do dual exhaust though, because after the turbo there's no point in splitting it again.

most involved with the project are pretty much trying to get me to max the engine out, so i doubt this will be the only 1mz in my possesion, because as mentioned before they aren't boost friendly.

i'm in the progress right now talking with heir automotive and associated parties about my options to build the engine. i may be making the short trip to Phillips soon to start discussing parts.

btw. twin turbo would be a nice thought.. but there's most likely not enough room, we'll see shortly though.

V6>I4 because = quiet+smooth

I4=loud+vibration no matter how many stupid balance shafts you put in it.

I6 = most kick butt design ever, but no one uses it anymore except BMW.

Well you better hurry. I talked to the dealer the other day. He was back at the plant for the Tundra launch and said there is going to be a New TC with Solara V6 SC from the factory and a 2009 Supra coming out. I don't know how true it is but that's the rumor. I don't think he would make it up.
