Default Valve Adjustment (WITH VIDEO TO MAKE SURE ITS THE VALVES!!!)

Is it possible to do a valve adjustment on our car? I was on another tC forum and their tech guru said it wasn't possible since our cars don't have a valve lash. My valves are ticking from all the redlining I did ( ) and need to try to get them adjusted as soon as possible since i'm boosting again. If anyone has info on this it'll be high appreciated. I'll post a vid on what it sounds like, when I set on my cruise control, it makes this constant tick. When i'm in the lower RPM band on partial throttle, it'll click from 1500 till i shift. This does mean I have a loose valve right?

Is it a for sure can't? Toyota said they'd do it for 357 bucks, but I wanted to know what they do before I turn my car over.

Actually I lied, where it talks about the valve clearance, is every lifter a different size?

They can and more than likely will be different.
From my understanding this is how it should be done
Measure the clearance now on all of them.
Look at what the measurement should be within and decide where you want it (in this range), deduct this amount from the clearance you measured.
Remove the cam and check what size shim you had in there add this to the measurement above and this should be the shim size you need now.
Hope this helps.

Haha yeah it does, it's just a little confusing. I just have to read it over and over before I will be able to understand it haha. I guess it's highly suggested I get these parts from toyota instead of a normal auto store, right? Haha.

also there are more pages to the repair manual on how to put it all together after you adjust, you want them or can you do it without?

If you have them, i'll take it haha. And I would normally spend the money too, but I know I can do this myself, and plus im boosting and need parts. So I can save myself 367 dollars and do it myself haha.

id want to go ahead and have the head rebuilt and maybe port and polish.......thats just me though

it would deff be worth your while to take the valvecover off and get some measurments of your cams and lifters, then go from there........

look at dezod if you want a rebuilt one thats ported and polished
