Lol id do it if I had 600 bucks to spend on cams! It only ticks under a certain load, when my throttle is like 2/5 pressed, it'll tick till I shift. Under full load, you dont hear it. When im on cruise control, you can hear it.

And also, that guide basically says the valves aren't adjustable. you just have to measure to clearance so only the LIFTERS are adjustable, kinda. Valves can't be tightened, but lifters can be adjusted to make sure the clearance is a-ok. Does anyone know what it could be in my video? Clearance is off and lifters tick?

to check just the clearence between the lifter and cam you need a feeler gauge, to check the lifter thickness then you need a mic. who know you may end up popping the valvcover off and find a busted valve spring. if you go that deep into it then id suggest getting a caliper preferably a digital one to measure the valve spring.

I'm not sure what it is about the valve spring though, but if my valve spring was busted would I constantly hear a tick and not under a certain load? I only hear the tick at about 2/5 throttle. I hear it constantly on cruise control as well. If I go half throttle, it disappears. I've popped my valve cover off a few times and rotated my cams with the crank pulley and don't notice anything off the top. But i'll try to do some major digging and snap some pics of it hopefully soon.
I just hope that this is something I can educate myself on to save myself some money. Id rather my 367 go to boost than to toyota for fixing something I can do by researching.

Thanks a lot, when I decide to start this whole this, hopefully i'll have enough patience to post a DIY. I dont know if this is a common issue from redlining often, but i'm sure it'll come in handy for someone haha.

floating the valves is what happens and could mean your valves could be bent, marred from the keepers, keepers damaged, valve spring could be damaged........thes are the things you want to look at and if none of these is it then your gonna want to go deeper into things and check your bottem end. pistons, piston rings, con rods, bearings, ect.

Yeah i've been told about all those haha. I'm pretty sure if it was something that serious, I would hear that noise consistently regardless of load. It does disappear with a certain load though. So that makes me believe it isn't that severe. I youtubed all the horrible-ness and doubt it's something that serious. But thanks haha. I'd rather have input than none so you're awesome.
