Default Video of 07 tC soundling like a Popcorn Machine..Help!

2007 Scion tC makes this sound usually between 30mph - 40mph.

Any ideas?

sounds almost like plastic flapping back and forth. I would much prefer that over something going wrong in the head.

Is the sound present with Air Conditioning on recirculate?

It happens if the a/c is on or off. I agree with the plastic flapping, it would be much better, but I'm not sure where to look.

Sounds like acorns in your HVAC fan wheel. The fan wheel will also run on vent or heat, depending on the fan speed setting.

A cabin filter will minimize trash in the fan wheel.

Ever had trash all over your cabin filter? Without a filter, trash goes straight into the HVAC fan wheel.

There's a fresh air vent beside the engine hood hinge, (passenger side.) The vent has a rubber flap to keep debris out but it doesn't work well if parked under trees, particularly during fall and spring.

fan wheel is clear, recently changed the cabin air filter too. thanks for the suggestion though, it's so much louder in person like i said it happens between a certain speed, on the highway it disappears, strange..

Only other time I heard a disappearing, popping sound was when my Chevy S-10 frayed serpentine belts. The "fray" would slap against adjacent parts. When the frayed part broke off, it stopped popping. When a new fray got long enough, the popping noise came back.
