water/meth injection
So I hear a lot about this stuff and I have no clue what it is or what it does. Can someone explain to me the concept of this. Is water sprayed on the engine block and turbo? I have no clue.

it's used in forced induction applications.
water and methanol molecules have good specific heats. In layman's terms, they can absorb alot of heat. Water and methanol is injected into the cylinders (similarly to nitrous, it's via a fogger) and there it absorbs excess heat. This slows down the burn rate and reduces the chance of knocking.
It can be used to run higher boost pressures, leaner fuel curves, and more advanced ignition timing. Mostly though your supposed to tune moderately aggressive and then use the water injection on top of it to make it safer.

I heard that a fine mist of water is actually sprayed into your air intake. Thus making the air molecules more dense and there by gaining the ability to make some more power.

its used mostily on boosted car to reduce knock. usually people use alcohol/water or just meth. a lot of people use just meth so you don't have to use higher oct. gas also. i'm about to install a coolingmist.com alky/water injection kit on the supra, no more expensive, high oct. gas for me .

Thats pretty sweet... i didnt know that it was actually sprayed into the cylinder. But hey if you still use 93 octane it may bump it up even a little more.
so this stuff is pointless for N/A cars right?

unless your running higher compression, i guess it is. but if i were running high compression i would use race gas because meth. does not lube well so probably wouldn't want to run it on a DD.

The way it was explained to me.... Methanol injection is boost driven. Meaning, you have a controller that is set to a specific PSI level, and anything over that PSI level the methanol will kick in. Suppose to add horsepower, and allow you to run higher PSI levels "more safely". I believe this is the next step for our car. Methanol Injected after 8 PSI, and have it spray up till 14 PSI. Approaching 350+ whp.

not all kits are like that. some are progressive where it add more meth. as the boost goes up, some are just basic on or off, and some have 2 stages (one for lower boost and one for higher). and yes, meth. is corrosive so make sure the pump and lines are made for it.

this company is well known over in the srt-4 community. They make a quality product that works great.
I don't know if you guys know alot about the mopar staged upgrades for the srt-4, but stage 2 and stage 3 have a little switch that will put the car into high octane mode. Here timing and boost are increased and thus give more power. It's supposed to be used with at least 100 octane gas. Guys running this kit and a 30/70 mixture of methanol/water have been able to hold HOM with just the injection and regular 93 pump gas.

If your running so much compression and timing where you can only run race gas, you might be able to run meth/water/alky injection combined w/ 93 octane and still not detonate. but other than that, not really.
