Default Weapon R (MMW) vs. Megan Racing Header

Need some input on this. I want to buy a header for my car, and I am having a tough time on deciding on which header to get. I was extremely set on getting the Megan Racing Header and S-Pipe, but I heard such great reviews about the Weapon R (MMW) one. Price is/was a main factor for me choosing the Megan Header. But what do you guys think? I would like some honest reviews/comments. I did a search and nothing really came up comparing the two together. Any input is appreciated.

Here is my current setup: Stock Headers->Stock S-Pipe->Stock Cat->Megan Mid-pipe->Megan Drift Spec Exhaust.

(Yes, you read correctly, I still have my stock Cat. The guy that installed my exhaust didn't take it off, because it's technically illegal to do it in Cali, and he could get fined and what not. But the exhaust still sounds good. )

Thanks guys!

mmw keeps that low end torque, put out the extra cash and you will reep the benefits

right now im on a stock midpipe and exhaust. there is no rasp at all. abnout 90% is from the intake, just a little louder now. Hopefully soon i will be getting the precision muffler axel back and a custom midpipe

this in no way is trying to sound like a punk or anything like that. if you say "megan is bobo stuff", then why do you have the megan midpipe? are you just talking about headers? and for the DC headers dont get me wrong, they are nice headers and all, but it's not my taste. thats why i am asking peoples input about the MMW and Megan Header.

dc is probably the worst header out their right now... even megan(which i dont like at all) has better welds and is stronger(pretty pathetic on dc's end)

my advice is to look up the GSC motorsports header test and check around for their header results on the dyno..

i would not recomend the megan but its your car... i suggest looking into an alphaworks if you want some higher rpms power and top end performance... but if you want to keep some of that low end TQ.. i suggest getting the MMW since its the onl 4-2-1 design out..and mostly all of the headers out their are 4-1..

my mmw header has been very good to me.. no rasp, no fitment issues, and good overall performance throughout the power band....

tcpete, what is your current setup? obviously MMW headers + what? so the reason I was looking into these two headers are for these reasons. 1. Megan's Price, and I already have the Megan Drift Spec Exhaust. (Plus I was thinking about doing a whole Megan Setup in my car with other Megan parts too) 2. MMW comes with the S-Pipe, and I have heard good things about it. Not to say that people havent said good things about Megan either. This is why I created this post to get more input on these headers. I saw one place still selling the Alphaworks new, just got to find it.

set right now is mmw header/spipe + stock mid pipe + greddy evo2 axleback...

if money is a problem then just save up for a quality part or if u wana get it.. i guess you can pick up a used alphaworks or maybe a new one.. i mean if u wana have all the same megan stuff fine.. theirs nothing wron with that.. but IMO quality and performance > having all the same brand (most of the time)

try waiting and seeing if anyone u know locally has both headers and ride in their car.. see how you like it.

tcpete, point well taken. and it's not that i dont have the money to buy the MMW header, it's just $200 is $200 you know? and, i guess I'm being stubborn, but I dont want to have like 10 different brands of car parts on my car. not saying its bad or anything, but i guess it's just a personal preference. i have heard the megan header on two of my friends cars. one 5 spd with a custom exhaust (no cats, no res, loud as hell) and on an auto. (the auto sounds like caca)
