it sounds bad because he doesnt have a resonator.. lol

but yea i understand your point.. 200 can be put into something else.. ive seen mmw headers go for cheap on here and you can also check on yoursciontc.com and some other forums.. i come across those sale threads alot.. in fact i have a friend right now who is selling his mmw header + injen intake for 500 lol..

im gonna continue looking for the lowest price on the MMW headers. if i find a decent price, i might just jump on it. whats the condition of the header your friend is selling? maybe i could jump on that, and get a decent deal.

my advice is to look up the GSC motorsports header test and check around for their header results on the dyno..

i would not recomend the megan but its your car
This quote makes me wonder if you've ever even seen the DC header.??? "The megan has better welds and is stronger"?? Welds, How do you know? did you x-ray the welds to check for continuity and smoothness, and what method did you use for testing the "strength" of the DC header?

Have you ever seen the welds in person? The DC is actually the BEST i've seen so far!! And it's the only one that comes ceramic coated standard. And as far as the gains go, it has the most HP gain of all headers on the market for the tC, when comparing the header alone. The only one that is even comparable is the AW, which like i said isn't on the market any more. And the AW may have 1 or 2 more HP up high but has less than the DC down low. Pretty pathetic???? I don't think so!

I agree with you that he should look up the GSC thread with dynos. But if it's between the Megan and the MMW, i say go with the MMW, For some reason the Megan did HORRIBLY on the dyno test actuall losing HP compared to stock at certain RPMs.

I'm not trying to be a smart a$s or anything but i don't want your opinion to be the only STRONG opinion in here.

DC would be be my FIRST choice, which is why i bought one, however if you are dead set at the megan or MMW. I would say the MMW in a heartbeat, hands down.

DUDE IVE OWNED 2 SETS OF DC HEADERS on my old GSR and my old ITR and they were garbage.. in a few months i had cracks on the flanges were they connected to the primaries that needed to be rewelded and it was rusting out through that "silver ceramic coating for heat" that they typically cover them with.. and almost all of my friends have had similar issues with their dc headers on their hondas and tc's.. so please dont even jump on that with me.. been in the scene for over 11 years and i have seen and experienced my fair share of things.

another thing that people dont realize is that the primaries on the dc header are almost the same size as the stock primaries on the OEM header so in essance you only paying for a nicer OEM header that has a larger collector at the end and improves your top end performance a little.. atlest megan, alphaworks, and mmw and strup and the decensency to increase the primary sizes..

and if your saying DC is the best so far i guess you havent seen much out their bro.. pls go and take a look @ the strup and MMW headers.. THOSE ARE GOOD CLEAN WELDS... the DC welds look like bubbles of metal and not beads rolled..

and man just to shut you up even more.. you say DC headers make the most power out of anyone on the market...well looky here what i found

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...ght=gsc+header

.. the famous "header test" GSC did over a year ago with the alpaworks, dc, oem, and megan.. AND GUESS WHO CAME IN DEAD LAST OF THE AFTERMARKET HEADERS THE FREAKING DC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IN BOTH HP AND TQ UNDER THE THE ALPHAWORKS.. and only a few tenths THAT WILL NOT MAKE A DIFF. over the megan in TQ.. PLEASE REFER TO THE LINK ABOVE FOR PROOF.. unless you wana call GSC yourself and tell them they are liars..

so bro.. think again and know who you are talking to on here when questioning them..and i wouldnt question me or what i have done or seen... just because its the header you have doesnt make it better.. FACTS ARE FACTS.. and if you want me to post pics of DC's "aweomse welds" ill be more then happy to dig up a bagiliion threads on it..

honestly man, if ur preference is to have everything the same brand then go for it and get the megan header or w/e, but if ur going for performace, i'd go with the mmw or strup. i understand where ur coming from cuz i myself like to have all trd parts on my ride, but i DO aknowledge the fact that trd doesnt make everything for this car, so i mean, i cant just sit here and not do anything to my car while they decide to come up with something.

it really depends on what ur goal is with this car...do u want the best gains which will probably give u a crappy sound unless u insatall a resonator? or do u want something with good gains and with fair sound, or do u just want shiny things for looks and brand names...its really upto u dude. good luck on ur mission.

It's funny but the DC sports has the best overall hp gain, starts down low at around 3000 rpm all the way up nice and smoothly. The megan and alphaworks don't, there power starts around 4000 rpm and is very notchy up top. Also for that 1 extra hp the alphaworks has over the DC but its your choice. I'm just reading the dyno results and if i was to go by the dyno here https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...ght=gsc+header

I would choose the DC over the rest, If i was to choose for looks and performance then alphaworks would get the win. As for the Megan its a nice overall header for price, looks, with a little performance up top.

actually, if u look at the graph before the last, the dc ends up beings about 148 max power, the megan is 149 and alpha is 150 more or less, so i dont see what you see.

Yes true DC is 148.77 Meagan is 149.10 and Alpha is 150.25 so if you figure it all out the Alpha is only 1.48 more horse power, and thats just a small area up top where as the DC has more power across the board.. Just look at the graphs and see for yourselfs

The last post when tCpete wrote against my quote was actually my cousin using my screen name, but this is a VERY good observation. Most other people just wanna see peak HP, i prefer the equal distribution of power over the band, even if it's a "cheaper" quality weld holding it together. I admit, i wanted the AW first but i'm happy with my choice
