Default What do you guys think of this?

well first of all, Hi, i'm new. i don't have my tC yet but will in a couple of months. for now i'm researching parts so i know what to get when i do have the car. this is my list so far.

1. Injen CAI
2. megan racing header
3. PM or TRD axle back
4. some s-pipe

now i have some questions:
will i get a gain for the s-pipe? if not then i'd rather spend my ~$150 elsewhere.
second, which exhaust do you guys prefer?
and my last question, i was looking around e-bay and found a 4-2-1 header from DC but can't find any other info on it. whats up with that one? the 4-2-1 also looks like it takes car of the s-pipe.
well thats it for now, tell me what you guys think.
thank you

Id say forget the s-pipe unless you are looking for every last HP...its gains are minimal...spend that money on a short shifter or an engine damper instead as they will be more noticeable and much more useful.

The DC header is a 4-1 design and still uses the s-pipe. The only 4-2-1 (replaces the s-pipe) is the Monster Motorworks header (at the moment)and its over $700.

Whatever exhaust you decide to go with will probably be raspy with a header so be ready to drop about $100 more to get a larger resonator to replace the stock one. Its too small and cant handle the added exhaust flow.

thanks, i should have noted this before. this car will be my gf's so it will be an auto.
anyway, will it still be raspy with the factory resonators?
what can i expect to put down with the I/H/E (axle back) in an auto? i've seen all of the other dyno sheets but they are for manuals with other mods.
this is what i was talking about:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DC-SP...spagenameZWDVW

but now that i look at it, it looks like that header is for a honda. well i'll call that place and see what they say.
thanks for the reply

Love the avatar....

The PM axleback will most probably be the least raspy at this point and I didn't go with the s-pipe, YET, as I'm still not convinced it will yield a lot of extra HP...

You'll be happy with what you have... the intake adds a little "Lag" to the setup, but will be a decent increase...

wow you guys are in milpitas, i can just swing by one day and get it, after i get the car of course. i just have one quesion non-scion related. i have a 03 matrix with 108,000 miles and it needs a new cat. i was told be a smog place that i can only replace it with a factory unit. well the problem is that it costs over $700 and thats with a employee discount. i noticed that on your site you have OBD 2 cats, can i use one of these?
thanks

also, is you cat back from the header back or from the s-pipe back? and what is the price if i come pick it up. i guess you axle back doesn't mount to the stock piping so that is why i'm asking. sounds like the cat back has more gains anyway. is it already made or can i put a different tip on it?

I believe DC only makes a 4-1 header for the tC. That auction on ebay says "Picture shown may be different -- style and size vary from model to model" and it also says that it is one piece. I think the seller just has the info wrong about the 4-2-1. Also, I have read that a 4-2-1 header will give you hp gains across the powerband, while the 4-1 gives a big boost in the higher rpm's. But at this time, I do not believe there is a 4-2-1 header for the tC. Hopefully Draxas will be putting out a 4-2-1 header sometime around February or March.

When I entered the model number from the ebay auction in the CarDomain store, it pulled up this http://www.cardomain.com/item/DCSSHC4402 It is listed as 4-2-1, but it appears to be 4-1
