What does it mean CARB Legal?
hey guys, im wondering what this CARB Legal stuff means. will this effect my emissions in my area? i live in Chicago burbs.

Carb legal is the emmission output of your vehicle. Legal = will pass local, state, and federal emmission laws. Not legal = Will not pass local, state, or federal emmission laws.
Many times, if replacing a headder, catalytic converter, muffler, etc... it can simply be replaced before taking it to be inspected. HOWEVER.....this does not mean that you can run your car without a muffler.......If you get pulled over, you can still get a ticket.

well as i recall, CARB stands for California Air Resources Board....so i would assume its only for CA, but i'm sure each state has their own emissions regulatory board....i wouldn't bring too much attention to yourself, and remember, you have about 5 years till smog...so have fun until then!!!

Yes...CARB is only for California...but, other states have their own air and emissions regulations and i don't know what it is for illinois...try using yahoo or google for that
