LMAO!!! how the hell did you do 75 and get 220 MPT (im guessin miles per tank).....i can do ~300 a tank @ 100mph, and i do it quite regularly too...though if i average about 80-90 mph, i fill up at about 270 miles with still ~2 gallons left in the tank...this is done on a straight highway no cars no turns and relatively mild weather...

I've always heard, use the brakes, they're cheaper than a transmission
use heel-and-toe downshift to initiate engine breaking...minimal clutchwear and minimal transmission upset when done smoothly (correctly). its how it was done before syncros made driving stick so much easier to the point where you can just dump the clutch and still make it into the next gear (dont do it though, its bad for your transmission and clutch) hehehe

most cars are at their most efficient at 55mph. youre still good at 65. anything over that is wasteful. not that i dont mind wasting...

I was going into a whole rant about the SAE gas-mileage competition, but-

The point I'd like to make is... it's not revs that's your enemy in the war for gas mileage, it's acceleration. Your motor is LEAST efficient at idle, yet, if you're gliding at idle (coasting), you're making an instantaneous 100+ mpg.

So... accelerate as little as possible... carry speed through corners... don't brake much, which leads to acceleration... keep your tires at high pressure... and spend some time coasting out of gear.

I wouldn't engine brake so much... The clutch is designed as a wear item. The engine is not.

Well I drive 43miles to work every day on high way for about 40miles and 3miles in going through town… and every Monday I check my tire pressure to make sure there all still at 32psi... and I am turbo and sucks cause I have put a buttt load of miles on my turbonetics kit and had to replace my turbo still waiting on it to(gt3076r) back to topic though I watch my air fuel and when im going between 65-75 my a/f is between 14.5 and 16.2 it jumps around depending it im going up and down hill and I get 310miles to the tank and for a turbo car I don’t thin that’s to shabby I have the uni-chip piggy back.. last week gas city just got in there 100octane and I put in about 3/4 tank of it just to clean up my fuel system lol and the other 1/4 was premium and I saw 305 miles to the tank so....one downer is I don’t have cruise control due to quick disconnect wheel but im going to figure a way to get it on again....

Try driving the speed limit. The last tank of gas I put in (11.5 Gallons Sunoco 87) got me 355 miles (see profile for engine mods)

Engines run their most efficient near the rpm of their peak torque. They also run most efficiently at full throttle.

Coasting in gear uses less gas then coasting in neutral. In gear at anything above idle the engine is injecting no gas if you are not touching the gas pedal.

yep I have been getting about 330-340 miles per tank the last few weeks... filling up anywhere from 11.5-12.5 gallons each time (i generally wait until bingo fuel before tanking up, as Ive found that the gauge doesnt read accurately if I fill up before that point.

50 miles to and from work total for me. Cruise set about 70. About 4 miles of the trip is in town and I have to come to 5 full stops before hitting the highway. I have been getting just over 28MPG with my automatic. I bought the car for commuting so I wasn't concerned about performance, besides the auto is rated higher MPG than the stick.
