What stage clutch gives me the clamping sound?
hey there everyone... just watched tokyo drift for the 50th time tonight, and i love that sound of the clutch when they shift gears as they drift around corners.. so therefore, ive decided to get a new clutch because i want that sound... now i know my car doesnt compare to their cars, as mine only has an intake, exhaust, new ignition wires, new radiator pipes, and a short throw shift kit, but i want that sound of my clutch engaging if you know what im talking about.. so im just wondering what stage clutch you need to get that sound, and any recommendations on a brand... stage 1 clutch is the best fit for my car, but idn if that stage has enough force to get the clamping sound.... so if anyone could help me here that wud b great...

have you ever driven a car with an unsprung clutch? If your 17 you should not be driving a TBW car with an unsprung clutch you will not be able to drive it in traffic and you will probably snap the cv shafts and i know for a fact the motor mounts cannot handle it, i already broke one on the stck clutch.

This is a joke right? Replacing a clutch for sound? Whats next, a $3000 turbo so you can have the wooosh sound? And even better, someone actually is talking about a F&F movie with a straight face?
I am actually serious here... I think this is a joke.

Are you seriously interested in doing transmission work which, by your fast and furious tuner style of thinking, Im assuming you dont know anything about so some shop is going to rape you analy with installation on top of the parts all for a sound??? Thats like people that want a non-recirculating BOV when they need it just for the sound and their car ____s out on them. Look up how much a shop charges for tranny work and thats if you find a shop that would do that, not all shops do tranny work. If you want that clamping noise so badly clap your hands together after you shift.

50 times is a lot, plus the movie to me was kinda Though I did watch 300 the movie and it's pretty good. But back on topic, I think I know the sound you're talking about. It sounds expensive and not worth it for our cars...but to each their own. Good luck!

^The woosh sound is wanted by almost every kid 17-21.
I love that sound...wouldn't dish out 3-5 grand for it but I love it haha.
If I get one in the future I will most likely have the money to support all the other upgrades I have to get with it most likely.
As for the clutch...What sound is he talking about...I think that is just the sound of them literally putting all their back strength into it to make that sound. If you watch them they do kinda pull it a little too enthusiastically.
...And as for that Vroom Box...that would be cool if you had like...a 1984 corolla but why did they have to put it on a TC!

By messing around with the e-brake. I was dumb at the time. But you can drift in fron wheel drive cars just not nearly as well as rear wheel
#18
The second technique is used by a few drifters in rear wheel drives, but is the only way you can really drift a front wheel drive. You have to use the side brake. A front wheel drive can not whip it's tail out because the tires are being driven in the front as opposed to the rear. So when approaching a turn you pull the side brake to cause traction loss. And the rest is pretty much the same except that it's much harder to take more than one turn with a front wheel driver
The source maybe you should read it!

Front Wheel Drift is really a Power Slide. Nothing Else.

Call it what you want but you can read the source. I'm not here to argue about this, i posted something that had to do with my experiance with the movie, thats it.
