If you bothered looking at the same post you're referring to, you'd notice that isn't the real website.

I think web mislinked the site, could ya fix that for us man?
Somehow i think i saw it. My bad.

Heres the hook-up then....

I asked the question earlier but never posted my findings.

I checked on trdsparks.com and the part numbers for both the 05 and 07 TRD quick shifters are the same. This leads me to believe that the shifter didn't change between the years which means it should work on an 07. If you order it and it doesn't fit, don't blame me though.

You really need to physically measure it and stop guessing it. You claim to have "measured the stock throw"... but I don't know what you were measuring, or what means you used to measure it. But you're off. By a lot.

The 1st to 2nd throw on a TWM Stage 2 is 2.5", which is a "35%" reduction from stock. That 35% figure is a bit misleading, because the 2.5" height reduction makes the top of the shifter closer to the pivot, and therefore appear to be shorter, because your hand moves a shorter distance. Cut 2.5" off of a stock shifter, and the hand movement will be shorter. Nonetheless, stock throw is just over 3.5".

But back on point-- there's no possible way you have a 1" shift throw. You can't make the leg below the pivot long enough to accomplish that. My shifter has a 2" throw from 1st to 2nd, and 1.7" is the absolute shortest you can go with the OEM shift cage, and 3/4" riser bushings.

I was measuring the point where the shift cable connects to the base of the shaft. The travel from center (neutral) to each gear. Stock it was between 1.75-2 inches. B/c I was eyeballing the ruler, that's the closest measurement I could get. Then, with the K2, it was no more than 1 inch, again, eyeballing the ruler.

That's where I thought it was to be measured at. Sorry for the mistake.

That makes more sense. It has nothing to do with the shift throw (which is measured where your hand is, at the top of the shifter) but at least now it makes sense.

i have the TWM SS II , its so cute and small. To me at least.
I just the shortness look of it..makes me think im in a Z or something hehe...but you choose whatever your preference is. so you want a short throw between gears or a shorter stick? mines does both. the shifter is reduce by 2.5 and the throw between gears is reduce by 35%.

its all up to you buddy.

Necessary, no. But you will likely have a smooshed looking boot with it shoved way down. You can always cut it down-- that costs nothing.
