Toyota never posts 0-60 or quarter mile figures ( http://toyota.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/t...cGFnZT0x&p_li= ), so we'll have to wait until the various auto mags review it.

VW Golf GTI 1.8T has 180hp and 173lb-ft from 2k-5k rpm. weighs 2,934lbs. 0-60 in 7.5 sec.
Scion tC has 160hp and 163lb-ft at 4K rpm.weighs 2,905lbs. So maybe 8.0-8.5 sec. maybe even into the high 7's.

you should see test on the tC in next months car magazines. i'm pretty sure they've tested pre-production models in time for a june release.

I will totally buy that for the automatic GTI and the AUTO tC... but for the stick VW GTI the times are 6.5 to 60 and 15.3 to 1/4... so factor in your extra 1/2 to full second that you came up with... and tada... low 7s...
