Default Whistling noise

Has anybody replaced there exhaust, confirmed there were no leaks but have a whistling noise coming from the front of the car (at least that is where it sounds like it is coming from)? Whenever I am driving slow I can hear it or going 60-70 mph and then let off the gas, a whistling noise happens. It is very weird, not overly annoying, but starting to rake my nerves a bit. Any suggestions?

That's normal. The stock airboxes are designed to mimic the sound of a CAI. You most likely notice it now because you are paranoid that something might be wrong. If you decide to get a CAI it will whistle even more.

Good diagnosis but unfortunately I know that is not it. I have the Injen SRI on there, soon to be converted to full CAI, but it is not from the intake. I wish it was. Like I said, it usually happens at high speed and when I lift off the gas. I think it is strange and probably related to my exhaust. Is it possible for the sound waves to bounce back down the exhaust towards the engine when the gas pedal is lifted? There are no idiot lights and it seems to perform fine. My gf even heard the noise so its not in my head, wish it was though.

Are you 100% sure its not your intake? My old accord made a wooosh sound when i let off the gas when i go WOT.

20 bucks says its the strip above your head in between the flip up glass and the windshield. It just snaps into place and it'll vibrate at high speeds making a whistle noise. Mine did that for the longest time and when I finally epoxied it down, no more noise

Its not a whooshing sound.. the stock tC makes a whistling sound from the intake (All of them do) that an aftermarket intake will make louder. If you feather the throttle back and forth and hear it come and go, that is your noise. It was always there, you just notice it more now.

If it really is only when you are coasting, then it could be something else. A wind noise would be present all the time at speed, not just when you let off.

its not the exhaust, its not the strip above ur head, its not the sound bouncing around in the engine bay. im 99% sure it comes from the intake manifold because it only happens at certain speeds and at certain throttle positions. Ive had this when i had my stock air box, and i still have it with my SRI. i like the sound, doesnt bother me at all....

Mine was the strip above my head. I never noticed a whistling from the intake before I went turbo when I had a SRI. Oh well, I've plenty of other fun noises to listen to now

I wonder why I never noticed this noise if it's so loud like you guys are saying. I'm normally pretty conscious of noises with my trained ears.

also, you cant hear the noise when you go faster than 70 and above. you can only hear it while youre slowing down from 70-65 mph. it sounds like its humming. any ideas guys?

Piles and piles of threads about it the first couple of years the car came out. It got to be one of those "another person didnt search and posted about this???" topics

my car does it. every tc ive been in has done it.. drive on belt way around 70 then let off gas and right when it hits 65 you will hear a very small whistle coming from the windshield area. you can only hear it in the drivers seat. if in pass. seat you will not be able to hear it.most ppl dont ever hear it because they have there radios on or windows down. and its a very low sound whistle. when i replaced the stock air box with a injen it still did it. when i put turbo on it still does it( but really hard to hear it now with a 3in exhaust.)

^ windshield strip. Mine tried to escape again yesterday. Stupid auto car washes... those things pop my strip off just enough for it to make a horrible noise and last time it ejected at about 120...
