ok so heres the question...

How do we Convert WHP to HP on our TC's?

ive been wanting to know since ive been boosted...haha

well isnt it something you loose like 15% -17% through the flywheel so just do the math...for 5spd anyway and upwards of 20% with automatics


not 100% on those numbers but thats what ive always gone by for rough estimate, why not just tell people WHP number anyway thats what the dyno is going to give you

like the TC is rated like 160hp to the crank but seeing prolly only around 135-140 to the wheels

 

I do tell ppl WHP but i just always wondered what i was making at the fly also haha...just outta curiosity

 

No possible way to accurately calculate it. There are too many variables. Just stick with the WHP numbers.

 

Get your engine taken out and dyno'd. Surefire way to get the real HP. Pretty useless info though if you have a crappy tranny, upwards of 20% of that is lost anyways.
