Just wondering. Why is that?

My theory is... If your gonna go with INJEN, might as well get your moneys worth and use all the piping. Mines in CAI mode, use to run SRI, its quieter, but I'm not aiming to be loud. From what I read, SRI work best in the higher RPM while CAIs have the low to mid range gains.

save your $$$ and buy a dictionary. If that doesn't work, then go with the Injen CAI.

ahha you have it all wrong. its the other way around. SRI is for low rpms and CAI is for high rpms. theres less piping so air doesnt have to travel as far when you punch it, plus when you are going 25+ mph all the hot air is sucked out. and cai is really pointless on a sunny day because the ground becomes hot thus sucking in hot air.

SRI is not better for the car (unless you are talking about the risk of hydrolock).

SRI also sucks hot engine bay air. Even the stock intake pulls from the fender well where it is more isolated from the heat.

Neither will make any noticeable gain in performance and no time improvement on the track.

K&N's break the bracket on the car that they mount to a lot of times. They all have p!ss poor designs in the area of mounting, the K&N just seems to be the worst.

And they all heat soak more than stock since they are a metal tube.

In other words, buy one that looks good, sounds good. That is what they are for on the tC.

trust me go with SRI. its way easier to get to the filter. get the injen soo you can try the CAI and SRI for yourself. you will notice that the SRI is sooo much better.

^^Bad use of punctuation and capitalization. Plus, it's a run-on sentence. (Relax! I'm j/k.)

If you have an 07+ I would go the safe route and get an Injen. Some Fujita CAIs have been throwing a CEL which is a headache I would pay a little more money to avoid.

How much are intakes nowadays? I thought they dropped in price? I thought a saw some injens go for cheap at the sponsored sales but I don't know. I got lucky and one of my local race shops had a new 07 Injen one for $200 cash.

you can an injen for 285 on TRDsparks, but that with a discount, i believe retail is in the 300-350 range. which is alot of money, i wish i never wasted money on my intake though cause im getting a s/c for christmas. soo im gonna hev to put the stock one back on anyways.

If you really care about getting what a CAI is supposed to get you (cooler air) without the mounting issues and super high price of some other intakes, search GFI or G.F.I. on here. Honestly, you will most likely get better performance out of it since it is made to actually keep the air as cool as possible (aka no metal tube) and draws it from the front bumper. It also keeps the restriction (filter) back in the airbox so that it is harder for it to pull water up the tube.

You still wont get a big gain with it, but at least it is doing what a CAI should other than look blingy

There's no problems with the cel when i installed the fujita intake on my g/f's 07. Only problem that it caused was that my g/f drove it in a huge puddle and hydrolocked her motor. Other than that it was a good intake. BTW i want to sell her intake if your interested. Peace.
