I intend on putting you guys Sound Quality questions to rest. As I mentioned earlier, we have a Club Photo Shoot/BBQ today. I will get vid of Brians car on start up, idle, and a few revs. Just give me a couple of hours to do so.

im suprised they made a 3inch exhaust actually - I thought the 2.5 was plenty big enough. Its true that i dont know as much about turbos as s/c's but still - for the tc I would have thought 3 was too big - then again - you know it had to be dyno tested before they just jumped into a line like that.

2.5 is good up to 350-400hp. Beyond that, you need to step up your game.

LOL.
Please elaborate on how u think the srt was designed to sound like that.
It sounds like that for 1 reason. It has no mufflers.
Take any turbo car, take off the muffler and put a straight back(with or without resonator) pipe, and it will sound exactly like the srt.
There is no design aspect, lol

Also why is it then that my friends SRT-4 that has a muffler still sounds the exact same way it did before he put the muffler on? Care to explain that? His set-up is a single exhaust 3" with a Muffler... he thought it would kill the "Sound" but it didnt.
Dont you think if cars with out a muffler sounded like that, we would have known that oh so infamous sound before the SRT-4 was even brought out into the market?
Still I will say it again, it was designed to sound like that.

ZPI already has a 2.5 inch exhaust system. This exhaust system is designed to cater to the hard core guys out there, so I do not see them making this one in 2.5 size.
However, anything is possible.. But that is a question that should be directed at ZPI themselves, so give them a call...

oh man........
that oh so infamous sound has been common with most turbo applications for the longest time.
the srt did not invent the sound, or make it popular
and what u prolly misheard at the car show was that they DESIGNED the EXHAUST to produce the noise...aka no muffler and only resonated pipes.
there are even some cars that STILL produce that oh so infamous sound with mufflers on. When turbo cars are running rich n shi*t they can spit out lil blips of fire and gurgle like all hell.
Also you can have gurgling on a stock tC, all u have to do is mis-match the exhaust size to the engine.
like puttin a 3 inch header back exhaust on a tC tahts relatively stock, will gurgle and backfire like all hell.

They definitely have control over tuning the exhaust to a specific note and frequency. I couldn't guaranty that Dodge did it though, but I suspect they did.

Let me make this simple. Travis, does the ZPI exhaust with no muffler sound like a SRT-4?
I know Subaru's have their distinct sound aswell, but why is it my buddies mostly stock STi with a 3.5" Straight Pipe no muffler not sound like a SRT/STi? But which, by all means it does Backfire like all hell, louder than a shot-gun and shoots flames about 4' long, but still no resemblence to a SRT-4s exhaust note.
