Default *Update* JE Forged Pistons info

JE Pistons have just released their new tC pistons for both NA and Forced Induction applications. These pistons are dish 4 valve pistons. They are 9.0:1 compression and 11:1 and are good for some serious power. They were originally designed for over 600 wheel hp. Beyond that power we would need to make a custom piston. These
come with a full floating pin, locks, and rings.
They list for $600 w/ rings:

but I know someone that can get them cheaper, maybe even for $410

A Complete set comes with 4 pistons, 8 locks, 4 pins and 4 ring sets.

what do you guys think of these pistons?

now I can't do a group buy unless I'm a sponsor but it is good to get info out like this to all you guys. Pm me with details as to how you can get them for a good price!!!

I was wondering if you had any dimension details (like distance between rings ect)? Also I was wondering how many rings are there and what were their thicknesses?

LOL: Ya, they rock. What a great setup.

Keep sending those question and i'll try to post them here for everyone's knowledge.

The are no oversized pistons available as of yet, sorry.

Ring dimensions are coming for anyone who wants to buy different rings.
The rings that come with these pistons are gas nitrided carbon rings.Good for boost, NA, and nitrous apps

I've asked my contacts with JE Pistons and Carrillo about immediate availability, but they were off work. When I get an answer I will post but my understanding was that both the pistons and rods were available so anyone wanting them can get them very soon.

I'll keep you posted.

so a ton of questions on rods too...

I wasn't sure if people were also intereted in the rods also but if you are going to replace the pistons, you might as well do rods at the same time:

Carrillo arguably makes the best rods on the market.
They offer two types of Rods for the tC.

A-frame are their newest design model and can safely handle 350whp. They run $799 plus shipping and tax

H-frame are their classic design and can handle 500whp.
Those are $1020 plus shipping and tax.

If any is interested in those as well as pistons let me know. Thanks for the PM's guys and keep a look out for more info.

If you are truly interested in getting some, PM me soon. I know there are a few of you that want them now so get a hold of me.
Thanks

Here are the specs on the piston:

89mm Bore (+.020 Over)
2618 Forged Aluminum
Top Land Thickness of .265
Middle Land Thickness of .160
Bottom Land Thickness of .095
Top Ring is 1.0mm (Gas Nitrided Carbon Ring)
Middle Ring is 1.2mm (Carbon Napier Hooked Second Ring)
Bottom Ring is 2.8mm (Gas Nitrided Carbon Ring)

These will be available in 2 weeks or less as we have just released it. We
are waiting for them to be machined.

not to bad. about $80 less than list price for a set of 4. We could probably get a better deal for them with a group buy, but wait, we can't do group buys here...
